Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Madison Avenue at 2:37 a.m. Friday to assist with a medical call. Officers spoke with first responders who advised that they were going to have to force entry due to a medical emergency. However, the resident of the home came to the door before it was done and found that they were OK.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 12:01 a.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers spoke to the caller about someone knocking on their door. Officers did not locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 9:31 p.m. Thursday for a report of an unknown problem. Officers spoke with the caller about a medical issue, and the fire department and EMT responded and transported them to the hospital for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East State Street at 8:10 p.m. Thursday for a reported fight. Officers spoke with juveniles on scene and found the altercation was verbal only. Information was collected and all parties were advised to leave.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Fifth Street at 6:35 p.m. Thursday for a report of fraud. The caller advised someone had cashed checks from their business account. Officers advised them that they would investigate the matter further.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 5:43 p.m. Thursday for a medical issue. Officers spoke with the person in question, and first responders were called to the residence. Due to the person’s condition, they could not be left alone, and a pink slip was filled out, and they were transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 6:06 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised an elderly couple had been in the store for over two hours at the Bitcoin machine, and they were concerned that they were victims of a scam. The couple left prior to the officers’ arrival, but their information was provided and forwarded to the Perry Township Police Department due to them living in their jurisdiction.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:39 a.m. Thursday regarding an alleged sex offense. Officers collected information and the matter will be given to a detective for further investigation.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday for a reported disturbed person. Officers spoke with the person who was having suicidal thoughts, and they were transported to the hospital for further evaluation by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Howard Avenue at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday for a reported person to be removed. Officers collected information and spoke with all parties involved and found that it was a landlord tenant disagreement. The matter was resolved.

Leetonia

— Ashley Winter, unknown address, was arrested at midnight Oct. 16 in the area of state Route 344 and Commerce Street on charges of OVI, open container (two counts) and a marked lanes’ violation. Winter was westbound on state Route 344 when her vehicle went over the fog line and drifted off the right side of the road. The officer stopped her and could smell the odor of a fruity alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle and her person. She denied having anything to drink, claiming she was on her way back from work in Pennsylvania. While searching for her insurance information, the officer observed an empty open container of “Forbidden Apple” Buzz Ball and a second open container in her cupholder. After she recorded a .13 on a portable breath test, Winter was transported to the Lisbon post, where she consented to an intoxiliator breath test and recorded a .152.

— Police conducted a welfare check on a juvenile at the center of a custody dispute at 7:16 p.m. Oct. 14 in the first block of Walnut Street. The child was fine.

Columbiana

— Officers responded at 2:08 p.m. Oct. 17 in the first block of East Park Avenue to a male in distress at a local business and transported him for treatment.

— Police took a report at 9:2 a.m. Oct. 15 on station regarding protection order violations.

— Henry Sangurima, of Columbus, was cited at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 14 for no operator’s license and expired registration following a traffic stop on state Route 14.

— Brittney Smith, of Salem, was cited at 831 a.m. Oct. 14 for driving under suspension and distracted driving in the 14000 block of South Avenue.

— Officers investigated a domestic dispute at 8 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 200 block of South Bayshore Drive. The parties were separated.
