--A deputy checked the area of Mick Road, Yellow Creek Township, at 6:40 p.m. Sunday for a parking violation, but didn't find any vehicles.
-- Salem police at 10:50 p.m. Friday asked a deputy to contact the parents of a 14-year-old boy from Knox Township due to his ride leaving him behind at the high school football game. The deputy made contact with the parents and they were en route to pick the boy up at the Salem police station.
-- Salineville Police requested assistance at 5:14 p.m. Friday with a domestic violence call in the 100 block of East Main Street, Salineville involving a man and woman in a physical altercation. Salineville police and a sheriff's deputy spoke to the woman who said the man pushed her and left walking prior to their arrival. He was found walking on foot in the area of Hazel Run Road at Clarks Mill Road, Washington Township, and taken into custody and taken to the jail. A pretrial was set Nov. 3 in county Municipal Court for Edward A. Bolin, 45, Water Street, Salineville, charged with domestic violence for the incident.
-- Deputies were dispatched at 3:57 p.m. Friday to state Route 45, Madison Township, regarding a suicidal man with a knife. Upon arrival, multiple victims came forward and advised the man, Scott Groves, had assaulted them. He was taken into custody and taken to the county jail on two charges of assault. According to Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set Nov. 3 for Groves, 44, state Route 45, Lisbon, for allegedly assaulting a man and a woman on Oct. 24 in Madison Township.
-- A man on Carlisle Road, Middleton Township, reported at 2:24 p.m. Friday that a McDonald woman was at his residence and left a note on the door for him to call her. He also said that her boyfriend, also of McDonald, was on his property prior to going to jail, trying to make contact with him. He was contacted at the county jail and told to have no contact with the Middleton Township resident. The woman was contact by phone and told the same. Both were told they're not permitted on the Carlisle Road property.
-- A driver in a traffic stop conducted at 9:36 p.m. Oct. 23 on state Route 7 before Kountz Avenue, Liverpool Township, was found to have a warrant, taken into custody and transported to the county jail. The report did not list the person's name or charge.
-- Deputies responded at 7:37 p.m. Oct. 23 to Beaver Local football field. state Route 7, Lisbon for a fight. The parties involved were escorted out of the game, with deputies remaining until the end of the game to keep the peace.
-- An Alliance man called at 4:47 p.m. Oct. 23 regarding a custody issue with the mother of his 5-year-old son, who he said wasn't letting him have visitation. He was told to contact an attorney.
-- A menacing report was taken at 2:25 p.m. Oct. 23 by phone at Quaker Church Road, West Township. Another menacing report was taken at 1:58 p.m. Oct. 23 on station related to Metz Road, Fairfield Township.
-- An alarm drop was reported at 12:31 a.m. Oct. 23 in the area of Steubenville Pike Road, Washington Township, with deputies finding an open door at the residence. Deputies made contact with the owner and were advised everything was good. Deputies made sure the home was secure.
-- A domestic was reported at 10:58 p.m. Oct. 22 at a Walnut Street, Rogers property, with deputies learning everything was verbal. Both parties signed a refusal.
-- A woman on Hanson Road, West Township reported at 10:41 p.m. Oct. 21 that her live-in boyfriend was harassing her over $177 missing from his bank account. She said he thinks she withdrew the money, but she said she did not.
-- A man on Slater Road, Butler Township reported a burglary in progress at his residence at 8:41 p.m. Oct. 21, saying he could hear someone walking around. Deputies checked the inside of the residence, finding multiple doors going to the outside of the residence were unlocked. There was no contact with anyone inside the residence.
-- A deputy returned a call at 8:32 p.m. Oct. 22 from Yellow Creek Township regarding a missing person. The caller was advised the person was listed as missing out of another county.
-- An Atwater woman reported at 1:50 p.m. Oct. 21 that a cemetery brass vase was missing from her parents' grave at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, South 12th Street, Knox Township.
-- An attempted break-in was reported at 5:37 a.m. Oct. 19 on Kelly Park Road, Fairfield Township. A deputy took pictures of all damage.
-- A woman in Knox Township reported at 6:55 p.m. Oct. 18 that her neighbor was intoxicated and approached her while she was outside her residence, yelling at her, allegedly for yelling at one of her guests at her residence. The woman said the guest drives a red sports vehicle and was driving very fast up and down the road, which happened on multiple occasions. The deputy told both women to have no contact with each other and to not go on the other's property. The deputy spoke with the driver of the red sports vehicle and told him about the complaint.
-- Deputies were dispatched at 5:44 p.m. Oct. 18 to Oak Ridge Road, Yellow Creek Township, for a domestic violence report. Anthony T. Bowles, was taken into custody and taken to the county jail. A pretrial was set Nov. 3 in county Municipal Court for Bowles, 56, Oak Ridge Road, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly punching another man in the face with his right fist after the victim confronted him over a damaged chainsaw on Oct. 18 in Wellsville.
-- A deputy was dispatched at 4:21 p.m. Oct. 18 to the Lisa Lane, Center Township, for a person shooting a BB gun recklessly in the area and a person driving a motorcycle who was struck by a pellet. The deputy checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.
Salem
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:46 p.m. Saturday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that her ex-boyfriend showed up at her residence after telling him not to and was sitting outside of the residence in his vehicle. Officers spoke with the ex and found that the two had a civil issue which needed to be resolved through the courts and wanted to speak with the caller about it. However, the caller did not want to speak with him, and officers advised him to leave and stop contacting her.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of East State Street at 2:20 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a person wearing a Halloween costume was walking in and out of traffic, nearly getting hit. Officers found that the person was not doing anything illegal.
-- Officers responding to the 1900 block of East State Street at 1:36 p.m. Saturday to assist a Leetonia officer with a combative patient hitting hospital staff and threatening EMTs. Officers arrived at the hospital and spoke with the officer from Leetonia who advised that man had not been combative at any time, and the doctors advised the same and that the man had been quiet since he'd arrived.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 12:23 p.m. Saturday for a report of someone calling into UPS and pretending to be an officer. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the area of Newgarden Avenue and Liberty Avenue at 11:09 a.m. Saturday for a reported water line break. Officers located the break and advised dispatch to notify the water department.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of East Third Street at 3:26 a.m. Saturday for what was initially reported as a burglary. The caller advised that her daughter's ex-boyfriend was inside the house uninvited, and the ex was observed to have scratches all over his body with fresh blood. While officers were attempting to learn was had occurred, they also spoke to the caller's daughter in the upstairs portion of the residence, and the caller's other daughter, Kaylee Harper, 21, Salem, entered the room screaming and getting into an officer's face, preventing them from continuing their investigation. Despite several warnings to stop, she continued and was ultimately taken into custody for obstruction of official business, and due to her combative behavior and level of intoxication, she was placed into a patrol car. The fire department responded to check on the ex-boyfriend, who ultimately refused treatment, and the nature of the complaint was found "to be more of an assault sustained" by the ex who refused to pursue the matter further. He was provided with a courtesy transport to his own residence due to his level of intoxication, and Harper was transferred to the police department for processing and later transferred to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East Euclid Street at 12:03 a.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a person had driven by and revved his engine in front of the house. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them to stop doing so.
-- Officers responded to the 1500 block of East State Street at 11:17 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
-- Officers spoke to a juvenile at the police department at 10:48 p.m. Friday who advised that he'd been left in the city by a friend after the high school football game and had no way to get back to his residence in Homeworth. The Columbiana County Sheriff's Office was contacted and sent a deputy to the juvenile's home to speak with their parents, and his mother came to pick him up.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:36 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic dispute. The people in question were gone prior to the officers' arrival.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue at 5:51 p.m. Friday for a reported tree in the roadway. Officers located the tree in Perry Township and advised them of the complaint. There was minimal obstruction to the roadway.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 4:34 p.m. Friday for a reported parking complaint. The caller advised that an unknown vehicle was parked in their driveway. Officers spoke with the driver, and the vehicle was moved.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of East Third Street at 4:27 p.m. Friday for a reported barking dog complaint. Officers located the barking dogs and spoke with the owner who advised the dogs only bark when the neighborhood kids walk by their fence and that they would bring the dogs inside.
-- Officers took a report of a custody dispute at the police department at 3:41 p.m. Friday. The caller advised that their ex was at their residence in the 200 block of Rose Avenue and they were scared he would cause a disturbance. They also advised that he will not stop contacting her via text message and phone calls and that they wanted them to stop. The child involved did not want to go with the ex due to past issues, and officers advised them that they cannot force the child to go with them and to contact an attorney on the matter. They also advised them to stop contacting the caller and that if they did not, charges could follow.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 1:44 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that their dog had gotten out that morning and been struck by a car which failed to stop, and after speaking with the dog warden was advised to make a police report.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 1:36 p.m. Friday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers were unable to locate the person in question.
-- Officers took a report of an alleged sex offense at the police department at 11:26 a.m. Friday. Officers were advised that the incident had occurred in the 500 block of Granite Street, and they collected all the necessary information. The victim was transported to an appropriate medical facility for testing, and the case will be forwarded to the detective division.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Cunningham Road at 9:35 a.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that property had been left at the hotel by a man who went to the hospital the night prior and wanted officers to take it for safekeeping. Officers advised that since nothing criminal had happened that police would not take property and to have the man come pick it up.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive at 9:09 a.m. Friday for a parking complaint. Officers left a warning ticket on the vehicle for illegal parking and expired registration and will follow up at a later time.
