Salem

— Officers located a person riding a bicycle in the roadway on East State Street near Park Drive at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday. Officers advised them that proper lighting was needed to ride at night and that they needed to stay on the right side of the roadway. The rider advised that they understood.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that the clerk at the store was not giving him the correct amount of money he was due from two lottery tickets. Officers looked at the tickets and confirmed that there was a misunderstanding on his part and that he had been given the correct amount of money.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Home Circle at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that they had been living at the residence for over a year and that she had been kicked out. Officers spoke with the residents and learned that the caller had already moved out but needed to get her belongings, and the residents advised that they could come and do so.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Highland Avenue at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers removed the item in question from the roadway.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 1400 block of Ridgewood Drive at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday to assist a man who had fallen and was unable to get up. Firefighters had to use a door spreader to access the residence, and the man was transported to Alliance hospital by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Pershing Street at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday for a report of social media harassment. The caller advised that there are two people sending messages to them and making up lies about them and that they want them to stop. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday for a report of accidental damage. The caller found that their mailbox had possibly been hit by a vehicle. Officers found that the mailbox had possibly been struck by a snowplow. Due to a lack of tire tracks or security footage, officers were unable to determine exactly what caused the damage. Photos were taken to document the damage, and the caller was provided with a report number.

— Officers responded to the area of Butcher and Egypt roads at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with multiple vehicles stuck in the roadway. Officers contacted Sinsley’s Towing to remove the vehicles.

Perry Township

— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of Benton Road at 1:05 a.m. Sunday located an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper conducting a traffic stop. Officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of state Route 344 for a reported medical call at 12:15 a.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised that the alarm was accidental.

— Officers responded to Depot Road at 8:39 p.m. Saturday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Officers stood by a while a trooper conducted their investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Highland Avenue at 1:53 p.m. Saturday for a report of criminal damage. The caller advised that a porta john had been tipped over during the night and that a realtor sign appeared to be leaning. The caller was advised to have the construction crew look over the property for any further damage or possible theft.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:14 p.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller’s daughter sent $7,900 to California before leaving without authorization. The caller did not want to press charged but does not want the daughter to return, and their other daughter wanted the incident documented.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Country Club Lane at 11:17 a.m. Nov. 27 for a report of fraud. The caller advised that they received an email stating somebody had hacked into his computer, stolen his information, and was demanding a ransom to restore his security. The caller was advised to notify their bank and other organizations and to make a report on IC3.gov.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East Pidgeon Road near Depot Road observed a vehicle accelerating at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain its lane at 2:11 a.m. Nov. 27. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, and the vehicle continued to accelerate, exceeding 107 miles per hour and running red lights before ultimately stopping on Benton Road. The driver, Collan Craig, 25, Salem, was taken into custody charged with failure to comply, reckless operation, and cited for OVI, speeding, a marked lanes violation, failure to obey traffic control devices, and improper turn.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Beachwood Road at 7:04 p.m. Nov. 26 for a reported domestic complaint. The caller advised that his ex-girlfriend was at his house to gather her belongings and they were having a verbal dispute. Officers stood by while the female half collected her property.
