Salem

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Deming Street at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers determined that two roommates had been involved in a verbal dispute that had turned physical where one had thrown the other to the ground. Officers were unable to identify the primary aggressor while on scene, but took the man, whose name was not listed, into custody and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 1 a.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with the parties involved and they were separated for the night — Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 11:43 p.m. Monday for a report of phone harassment. The caller advised that they received text messages from an ex-boyfriend over 20 years ago. After showing officers the messages, the caller was advised to block the ex on Facebook and Messenger, and to contact officers if there were any further issues.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Wilson Street at 6:37 p.m. Monday for a report of a person going through dumpsters. The person in question left prior to the officers’ arrival, and officers advised the property owner that there would be extra watches on the property.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Oak Street at 3:27 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile issue. The caller advised that they have been having issues with several juveniles throwing snowballs at their residence while walking home from school. Officers contacted the school resource officer who advised they would speak with the juvenile about the issue at school the next day.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 3:11 p.m. Monday for a reported irate customer. Officers spoke with the person involved and found that the dispute was reportedly over a food order. One of the involved parties was trespassed from the business.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 1:18 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them to contact their sister.

— A detective assisted Homeland Security Investigations in locating a person with outstanding federal warrants for charges relating to child pornography at 12:13 p.m. Monday.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:21 a.m. Monday for a report of fraud. Officers found that the person in question lived outside the city and advised them to contact their local police department.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 10:25 a.m. Monday to speak with a resident about a complaint concerning their dog. Officers were unable to speak with the person in question.

— The school resource officer was advised by the bus supervisor of an issue between a parent and a bus driver at 8:33 a.m. Monday. The incident occurred outside city limits, but the supervisor wanted it documented in the event there were any further issues.

— Charles Moore II, 39, Salem, was cited for reasonable control after his northbound vehicle in the 100 block of Ohio Avenue struck the rear of a legally parked an unoccupied vehicle at 7:16 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Seventh Street at 9:53 p.m. Sunday for a reported trespassing complaint. The caller advised that when they returned home their back door was wide open. Officers checked the interior of the residence and found everything to be okay.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Howard Avenue at 9:14 p.m. Sunday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with the wanted person, Travis Bragg, 27, Salem, advising them of the warrant. Bragg gathered his belongings and was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Wilson Street at 9:07 p.m. Sunday to serve an arrest warrant. Officers were advised that the wanted person was not present.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Hawley Avenue at 5:26 p.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. Officers found that the dispute was over property between a recently divorced man and woman, and both were advised to speak with an attorney as the property was shared when they were married. Both parties went their separate ways.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 4:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of drug paraphernalia located while conducting an inventory check of a patient’s belongings. Officers took possession of the items, and they were properly disposed of at the police department.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 4:06 p.m. Sunday for a report of a woman having a possible mental health crisis. When officers arrived, the woman requested medical attention and was transported by EMT for further evaluation.

— Officers were flagged down in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:45 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possibly intoxicated woman. Officers observed the woman, who did appear to be under the influence, and due to their behaviors, the fire department and EMT responded and transported them to an appropriate medical facility for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Pershing Street at 11:28 a.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that the driver of the vehicle seemed confused and possibly impaired. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who advised that they were looking for an address with no signs of impairment observed.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 9:36 a.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that there was an electrical cord coming out of an upstairs window and into the apartment on the first floor. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that the tenant upstairs had their electricity shut off and asked if he could run a cord for power. Officers advised the man that this was illegal, and a fire hazard and the cord was unplugged. Officers attempted to speak with the upstairs tenant, but nobody answered the door.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Depot Road at 10:19 a.m. Monday to investigate a complaint. Officers spoke with the caller and retrieved items from the residence, and the incident remains under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Perry Street at 11:48 p.m. Sunday to assist Salem officers with a 9-1-1 call. Officers spoke with the person in question, who advised that everything was okay.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Benton Road at 1:10 a.m. Sunday for a report of a possible prowler. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone at that time. Officers were later advised that the person in question was a confused neighbor who had made it back home.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Pidgeon Road at 10:01 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. Both parties advised officers that the incident was just a verbal argument.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of East Fifth Street at 2:02 p.m. Sunday for a report of a solicitor in the area. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Goshen Road at 2:58 a.m. Saturday for a 9-1-1 hang-up call. No emergency services were needed.

— Officers responded to Egypt Road at 10:06 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Liberty Street at 8:33 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic in progress. The man and woman were separated and spoken with, and officers were advised that there was a verbal altercation. The female half and their daughter left for the evening.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Friday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that the neighbor’s dog had been outside for several hours and appeared to be in distress. The dog was not outside when officers arrived, and they were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 2:26 p.m. Friday to assist adult parole in locating and arresting a man. The man was not present at the residence but was located in the 1000 block of West State Street and taken into custody without issue.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of state Route 9 at 12:29 p.m. Thursday for a medical call. Officers assisted until no longer needed, and the patient was transported by STAT Medivac.

— Officers responded to the Salem Police Department at 11:39 a.m. Thursday to speak with a woman who alleged that her family had sold her home and she was now homeless. She advised that there have been ongoing family issues and that she has a report on file with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and that she has been living in shelters since April. She also advised that her belongings were at the Stables Inn and Suites as she had stayed there the night prior. Officers provided her with a number for the crisis center to get information on the resources available to her.

Leetonia

— A suspicious vehicle was reported driving very slow at 2:34 a.m. Dec. 5 in the area of state Route 344 and West Main Street. After initiating a traffic stop on the vehicle, an officer saw the windows were frosted over due to the lack of functioning heat and asked that his vehicle be towed to his parents’ home.

— Officers performed a welfare check shortly after midnight Dec. 8 on a residence in the first block of Walnut Street as a result of a noise complaint. Upon arrival and contact, he heard nothing and cleared.

— Police performed another welfare check shortly after midnight at Dec. 4 in the 200 block of Oak Street, where a caller reported hearing a muffled gunshot followed by cursing and striking items. Upon contact, the property owner said that the loud bang was when probably from shutting his truck hood.

Columbiana

— Todd Sabean, of Akron, was arrested at 7:14 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 1300 block of Heck Road, after a police pursuit. Police had initiated a traffic stop of a white work van due to a report of it following a tractor trailer for an extended period of time. After the operator (Sabean) stopped and talked briefly to officers, he fled down state routes 14 and 7 within the city before being terminated north of the jurisdiction. Police have requested a warrant for his arrival for failure to comply.

— Dylan Baker, of Negley, was cited at 7:44 p.m. Nov. 30 in the 44000 block of state Route 14 for driving under suspension.

— Sarah Mullins, of East Palestine, was arrested at 9:12 p.m. Nov. 28 on OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of fentanyl and trafficking in drugs near state routes 7 and 46.

— Kevin Nichols, of Columbiana, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Nov. 26 in the 200 block of North Main Street with OVI, following a traffic stop.

— An investigation was pending into a gift card scam at 8:55 a.m. Nov. 26 in Sparkle. Demetrius Primm, no address listed, was arrested on a previous warrant at a Beaver Township Sparkle, according to the report.

— Brandon Lutman, of Leetonia, was cited at 1:44 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 300 block of North Main Street for a red light violation.
