Sheriff’s Office
— A man on state Route 164, Fairfield Township, reported at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday that he put mail in his mailbox to be sent out, with the check made out to Capital One for $482.31, but someone else cashed the check with Bank of America and crossed out Capital One.
— Deputies were dispatched at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 13 to East Liverpool Road, Madison Township, for a welfare check on a person. The person was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by West Point EMS.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 2:36 a.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. Officers checked the area the shots were believed to have occurred from, and the area surrounding the caller’s home but did not locate a source.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 1:47 a.m. Friday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised their upstairs neighbor was slamming things and yelling. When officers arrived, no noise could be heard, and the neighbor advised that this has been an ongoing issue when they step outside to smoke. They agreed to remain quiet for the night and avoid contact with the caller.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Friday for a report of possible shots fired, and while there received several more reports from residence. Officers checked the area, as well as several streets and back alleys, but were unable to locate the source of the noise.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue at 10:39 p.m. Thursday for a neighbor dispute. The caller advised that their neighbor was slamming doors in the building and told her to call the cops. Officers attempted contact with the neighbor, but she did not wish to speak.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 9:37 p.m. Thursday for a reported theft of gasoline. The caller advised that a red four-door sedan had pumped gasoline then left without paying and was last seen headed eastbound on East State Street. No surveillance video was available at that time.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 9:26 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers located two people in the parking lot working on a vehicle and advised that they were waiting for another person to help jump start the vehicle.
— Officers responded to the 2800 block of West State Street at 3:32 p.m. Thursday for a reported reckless operator. Officers were advised that a vehicle was traveling westbound on state Route 14 at a high rate of speed while passing cars. Officers sat stationary for several minutes at the city limits but never observed the vehicle in question.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Maple Lane at 1:13 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious activity that was observed through the camera in dispatch. Officers spoke with the person in question, who advised that they were just using the outlet due to being homeless. They gathered their belongings and left the area.
