Salem
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10:43 p.m. Monday for a reported open door. The callers advised that when they returned home, they found their door open. Officers checked the interior of the home and found everything was OK.
— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue at 9:47 p.m. Monday for a report of a tent blocking the roadway. Officers removed the tent from the roadway.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Fair Avenue at 9:11 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious odor. Officers found it to be a wood burning stove from a nearby residence. The fire department was also contacted due to the smell being abnormal.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Seventh Street at 7:29 p.m. Monday for a 911-hang-up-call. Officers spoke with a resident, and everything was OK.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6 p.m. Monday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that an unknown vehicle was in her driveway. Officers searched the residence but did not locate anyone and advised the caller to have the vehicle towed from the residence.
— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:12 p.m. Monday for a report of two shoplifters. Two female juveniles were taken into custody and released to a guardian on scene. Charges will be filed and sent to the juvenile court.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 9:34 a.m. Monday for a reported stolen vehicle. Officers obtained the information needed on the vehicle, and it was entered into a law enforcement database as stolen.
— Officers responded to the area of Roosevelt Avenue and East State Street at 8:03 a.m. Monday for traffic control. Officers stood by until an issue with a traffic light was fixed.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Homewood Avenue at 7:35 a.m. Monday for a reported tree limb in the roadway. Officers removed the limb from the roadway.
Leetonia
— An officer was dispatched shortly after midnight Christmas Eve for a complaint regarding neighbors racing up Ridge Street. Upon arrival, he was unable to locate the disturbance and cleared.
— Police followed up regarding a subject after a stolen vehicle belonging to an occupant was found in Goshen Township jurisdiction at 8:49 p.m. Christmas Eve.
— An officer responded to an alarm drop in the first block of Walnut Street at 11:54 p.m. Christmas Day and found the residence secure.
— Police responded at 8:37 a.m. Dec. 27 at Alliance K-12 school for an alarm drop and found the door that was pinging before verifying it was secure and clearing.
— Another holiday alarm drop in the 1300 block of Beeson Mill was reported. After the owner arrived on location, the officer cleared.
Columbiana
— Andrew Warneke, of Columbiana, was arrested at 11:24 p.m. Dec. 19 on an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.
— An unidentified male complainant filed an alleged harassment complaint on station at 5:54 p.m. Dec. 17.
— Ryan Dickey, of New Waterford, was cited at 9:45 p.m. Dec. 15 on charges of menacing and obstructing official business, after expressing suicidal tendencies. Upon being transported to the station, he became non-complaint and struggled with officers who eventually were able to detain him and have him transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Lisbon
— Samuel M. Elfaye, 62, no address listed, was charged with OVI after an officer responded to the area of North Market Street at 9:22 p.m. Dec. 26 in reference to a possible drunk driver.
— An officer responded to a 300 block East Washington Street home at 5:10 p.m. Dec. 20 where the resident reported her husband, from whom she is separated, had taken her dog from the home. The resident provided paperwork showing she adopted the dog before her marriage.
— An officer responded to a 300 block East Lincoln Way home at 5:37 p.m. Dec. 16 in reference multiple 911 hang-up calls. The resident was warned not to call the police department unless there was an emergency.
— Officers responded to a group home on state Route 154 at 10:02 p.m. Dec. 18 in reference to an intoxicated individual threatening a worker and other residents. Officers found the person in question arguing with another resident and got him to calm down. The individual was provided a courtesy ride to a friend’s house and advised that he not welcome back at the facility.
— An officer responded to a 300 block South Lincoln Avenue home at 4:10 p.m. Dec. 16 where a resident reported she let her neighbor borrow her phone to set up a mobile account and the neighbor used her phone number for the account. She said she has since received multiple calls from the phone company because her neighbor has been missing payments, and her neighbor told her off when she mentioned it to him. She was advised to contact the phone company to explain the situation.
— Officers responded with Columbiana County sheriff’s deputies to Circle K on North Market Street at 6:38 a.m. Dec. 13 where a caller reported being threatened by a clerk at the business. Officers determined the caller to be the agitated person who was becoming increasingly angry with officers. The caller was advised he was trespassed from the property.
— Officers responded to the laundry mat on Original Alley at 10:51 a.m. Dec. 12 in reference to two juvenile siblings fighting. Officers spoke with them and warned them against their actions.
