Sheriff’s Office
— An alarm was reported at 6:28 p.m. Thursday on Rochester Road, West Township. A deputy responded and checked all the doors and windows at ground level, finding them all secure.
— A man on Bayard Road, West Township, reported at 4:48 p.m. Thursday that the dumpster on his property was moved and he believed the neighbor moved it, but he did not see him move it.
— A woman from Leesburg called at 4:43 p.m. Thursday to request a welfare check on her boyfriend’s 5-year-old son, who lives with his mother on Pine Hollow Road, Middleton Township. She requested the check due to being unable to make contact with him for over 30 days. A deputy responded and observed the boy to be fine.
— A deputy responded at 6:59 p.m. Jan. 8 to a property on state Route 45, Elkrun Township, regarding a 911 text. The deputy spoke with the person and her grandmother and was advised the situaton was handled and everything was OK.
— A theft was reported at 5:15 p.m. Jan. 8 on Sherwood Road, Yellow Creek Township. The deputy who spoke to the person called for EMS due to the person having trouble breathing. The person was taken to a hospital.
— A deputy at 8:34 p.m. Jan. 5 checked the area of state Route 7 and East Liverpool Road in Madison Township regarding a welfare check, with the deputy advised a young woman wearing a grey sweatshirt was asking for help. The deputy checked the immediate and surrounding areas, but did not find the woman.
— A request of one to be removed was made at 4:05 p.m. Jan. 5 on Myers Road, West Township. When a deputy arrived, the person in question had already left.
— A report of menacing was taken at 1:52 p.m. Jan. 5 for a state Route 154 address in Middleton Township. The caller had a protection order against the people, but it had not been served yet. Deputies went and served the protection order paperwork.
–A theft report was taken at 3:22 p.m. Dec. 31 at Storage Rental of America, Strader Road, Madison Township.
Salem
— Arianna Carroll, 23, Salem, was cited for OVI and failure to control after her vehicle struck a utility pole in the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 2:21 a.m. Friday. Carroll was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT for medical evaluation.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Sixth Street at 12:26 a.m. Friday for a possible medical issue. Officers contacted the person in question who was then transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 8:50 p.m. Thursday for an unknown issue. Officers found that the matters were a civil issue over property, and the parties involved agreed to retrieve the property the next day instead and separated for the night.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fourteenth Street at 7:41 p.m. Thursday for a reported child custody dispute. Officers were advised by one party that the other was at another location which was not part of the agreed upon drop off location. Once the other party arrived, the children were dropped off with no issues.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 5:49 p.m. Thursday for a possible no contact order violation. The caller advised that the person the order is against drove by the home while the protected parties were present. All information is being collected, and the report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Pershing Street at 8:35 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers were advised that a man was outside yelling with a dog. Officers checked the area but did not locate the man in question.
Leetonia
— Thomas Meadows, no address noted, was cited at 1:52 p.m. Jan. 15 near Main and Walnut streets after striking Marci Mancuso on the passenger side.
— A reckless driver was reported at 4:12 p.m. Jan. 16 on state Route 344. After a traffic stop, he was not found to be impaired
— An officer responded at 1 a.m. Jan 16 to the American Legion and found it to be secure.
— At 8 a.m. Jan. 15 pm Butcher Road, an Omnifiber contractor had a 500-gallon water tank on his bed, filled from a fire hydrant near the school without permission.
Columbiana
— Reports of fraud were received at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 7 from a Brenda Lane resident and at 10:43 p.m. Jan. 9 from a Parkview Drive resident. No other information was available.
— The Firestone Farms HOA reported at 2:29 p.m. Jan. 7 that a light pole was damaged by someone driving through looking for their lost dog.
— Randy Nussbaum, of East Palestine, was cited shortly after midnight Jan.7 for driving under a non-compliance suspension near state Routes 7 and 14.
— Seth Beery, no address listed, was arrested at 4:08 a.m. Jan. 5 near state Route 14 and old 14 on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop.
