Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy responded at 9:16 p.m. Saturday to the Rogers Feed Mill, Depot Street, Rogers for an alarm, finding all windows and doors secure and no signs of forced entry.

— A deputy returned a call at 8:22 p.m. Saturday regarding a civil matter on Carmel Achor Road, Middleton Township, speaking to both parties involved and advising them how to proceed.

— A man on Glasgow Road, Wayne Township called at 1:14 p.m. Saturday to request a welfare check on his neighbor due to not seeing him in over a week. A deputy didn’t have contact with the man, but did talk to him by phone. He said he was at his residence and he was fine.

— Deputies were dispatched at 3:14 a.m. Saturday to an alarm at Dollar General, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township. All doors and windows were secure at ground level.

— Deputies were dispatched at 12:13 a.m. Saturday to a residence on Crestview Road, Fairfield Township, for a person having mental health issues. The person said they needed to go to a hospital. Columbiana EMS transported the person to a hospital in Mahoning County.

— Deputies responded at 8:57 p.m. Friday to Pancake Clarkson Road, Middleton Township for a person having mental health issues. Deputies were advised the person wanted to go to a hospital to get checked out. EMS responded and transported the person to a hospital. The person’s relative was informed.

— A telecommunication harassment report was taken at 6:13 p.m. Friday on Lower Elkton Road, Fairfield Township. The caller was advised to block the number.

–Aetna Insurance at 6:09 p.m. Friday requested a welfare check on a woman on Parkview Drive, Center Township, due to having no water at the residence. A deputy spoke with the woman, who advised she was fine.

— The assistant manager of Dollar General, state Route 172, Hanover Township, reported a man by the dumpster of the store. A deputy arrived and had no contact with the man on the property or in the area.

— A man on Spillway Road, Hanover Township reported at 7:18 p.m. Thursday that he was having a custody issue with the mother of his child. She lives in Hanoverton and this was over their 9-year-old son.

— Deputies were dispatched at 5:42 p.m. Thursday to Yates Road, Salem Township, for a domestic violence report. All parties involved signed a refusal.

— A welfare check was requested at 4:51 p.m. Thursday for a man on Rose Drive, Center Township. A deputy spoke with the homeowner and was told the man does not live there and they didn’t know who he was.

— A woman on Neeld Road, Unity Township reported at 10:50 p.m. Jan. 28 that a man was driving a silver Lincoln vehicle up and down the road and when asked if he was okay, he said he was waiting for his girlfriend to leave. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find him.

— A man on state Route 170, Middleton Township called at 9:10 p.m. Jan. 28 to request a welfare check on his neighbor due to her driveway not being plowed and he hadn’t seen anyone at the residence. A deputy checked but had no contact with anyone at the residence.

— Deputies were dispatched at 5:58 p.m. Jan. 28 to Yellow Creek Church Road, Franklin Township, for a person who took a bunch of medication. Franklin Township EMS was on the scene and the person advised they wanted to go to a hospital. Northstar EMS transported the person to East Liverpool City Hospital in East Liverpool.

— A deputy at 4:05 p.m. Jan. 28 assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic accident on Homeworth Road at Buck Road, Knox Township.

— Deputies responded at 9:33 p.m. Jan. 26 to Old Monroeville Road, Salineville, regarding a domestic. Deputies spoke with both parties and were advised everything was a misunderstanding. Refusals were signed.

— Neighbor troubles were reported at 8:27 p.m. Jan. 26 on state Route 45, Center Township. Deputies spoke with both parties involved and were advised both would be civil and an agreement was reached.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. Officers secured the scene while medical personnel provided aid. The injured person was then transported by EMT.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department about a situation involving his vehicle at 1:51 p.m. Tuesday. The man advised that he had allowed someone to use his vehicle approximately two years ago, and that they had never returned it. Officers provided them with the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eighth Street at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday for a report of fraud. The caller advised that an unknown person opened a credit card in their name and had made two purchases totaling $417.73. The credit card company had already cancelled the card, but the caller needed a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of George Street at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force with a search warrant. K-9 Chaz stood by and conducted a narcotics search.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that there were two people in the parking lot that refused to leave. When officers arrived, those in question had left.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that while they were at work, they received unusual text messages from their juvenile son. Officers spoke with the juvenile and their son, and the caller requested the son to be transported to the hospital.

— Officers responded to the area of Morris Avenue and Mound Street at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers spoke with the owner of one vehicle who said they would move it. A red warning tag was placed on another due to being unable to locate the owner.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Butcher Road at 11:27 p.m. Monday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers checked the area where the call pinged from and surrounding locations. Everything appeared to be okay. Officers were unable to locate anything unusual.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 7:54 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised their son was acting erratically and possibly under the influence of something. Officers spoke with the juvenile who admitted to using medication which was not prescribed to him. First responded and EMT responded and the juvenile was transported to the hospital for treatment.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Monday for a reported hit-and-skip. The caller advised that they witnessed a gray truck back into a parked vehicle in the parking lot and leave the scene northbound. Officers spoke with the owner of the parked vehicle and photographed damage to the rear left of the vehicle. The owner was provided with an incident number and advised that an investigation would be conducted.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Fair Avenue at 2:49 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with the parties involved, and it was determined to be a verbal dispute between family members with no physical violence reported. Officers provided one of the people involved with a ride to the police department to wait for a friend to pick them up.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:17 p.m. Monday for a parking complaint. Officers contacted a family member of the vehicle’s owner, and he was advised of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 1:19 p.m. Monday for a reported vicious dog. Officers located the animal and contacted the humane society. The humane agent responded and took possession of the animal.

— Officers responded to the area of South Broadway Avenue at 12:37 p.m. Monday for a report of solicitors. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the people in question.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 11:55 a.m. Monday for a reported person to be removed. Officers spoke with the woman in question who advised that they were there to pick up their wife. Officers spoke with the wife who advised that they did not want to leave, and officers advised the first woman of the same and she left the area.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 11:43 a.m. Monday for a wellness check on a city resident. Officers were able to speak with the woman in question and she was fine.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 8:18 a.m. Monday who advised that they had received a threat by phone. Officers took the information and it will be forwarded to a detective.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue at 1:19 a.m. Monday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that a person keeps calling and that they just want to be left alone. Officers spoke with the person in question and said to stop contacting the caller.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of Southeast Boulevard at 8:50 p.m. Sunday for a reported reckless operator. The caller advised that a vehicle was tailgating him and passed him. Officers located the vehicle and did not observe anything reckless nor any signs of impairment.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:24 p.m. Sunday for a reported parking complaint. Officers advised the person in question to move their vehicle, and they did so.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Woodland Avenue at 6:37 p.m. Sunday to check for a man with multiple warrants through other agencies. Officers spoke with the homeowner, who said the man was not there.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue at 5:40 p.m. Sunday for a report of disputed property. The caller advised that a woman would not return property to them. Officers spoke with the woman in question and learned that the caller had obtained the property and left prior to officers’ arrival.

— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 5:37 p.m. Sunday regarding threats being made toward them. They advised that a man had threatened them in the 500 block of Walnut Street, and that while they did not want to pursue charges, they did want officers to speak with the man. Officers spoke with the man and advised him not to speak with the woman going forward.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Sixth Street at 4:02 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man having emotional issues. Officers spoke with the man, who advised that they were having depressive thoughts due to the snow and being stuck in their residence. The man stated he wanted to go to the hospital to talk to someone about the issues he’s been having.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Benton Road at 2 p.m. Sunday for a reported reckless driver. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in question, and advised the driver of the reckless driving report, which they denied. Officers did not observe any signs of impairment, and the driver was given a verbal warning for failure to signal.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 1:40 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man shoveling snow onto the roadway. Officers located the man and advised him to stop shoveling the snow into the roadway to avoid potential hazards.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 12:46 p.m. Sunday for a reported 911 hang-up call. The resident was contacted and advised that everything was fine and that a child had gotten a hold of his mom’s phone.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:46 a.m. Sunday for a possible water line break. Officers located the break in the 100 block of West 16th Street, and the water department was notified.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 5:18 a.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that someone had rung their doorbell and then run off. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
