Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy returned a call at 5:44 p.m. Thursday to a person in Yellow Creek Township regarding neighbor troubles. They were advised how to proceed.
— A report regarding menacing was taken at the sheriff’s office at 5:06 p.m. Thursday regarding a state Route 45 property in Elkrun Township. The person was advised how to proceed.
— A suspicious person and vehicle were reported at 6:56 a.m. Wednesday on Crestview Road, Fairfield Township where a deputy responded and made contact with the driver of the vehicle. The person was going to a relative’s residence, but was not able to get there until another person left. The driver was only waiting until that time, then planned to leave. The driver had no warrants and was told they were not permitted to be on the property. They left and then the deputy advised the caller what happened.
— A welfare check was requested at 11:17 p.m. Monday at a property on Teegarden Road, Hanover Township. The person was contacted and reported being fine.
— A deputy at 7:57 p.m. Monday returned a call regarding a civil matter at a Center Township property on Grant Street, leaving a voicemail both times, but not receiving a call back.
Salem
— Officers on patrol in the 800 block of West State Street at 2:31 a.m. Friday for a reported public assist. The caller advised that they needed a ride back home, and he was transported back to the police department so a ride could be arranged for him. Once at the department, the man was able to call someone for a ride.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 12:21 a.m. Friday for a reported irate person. The caller advised that the person in question was trying to fight everyone. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were just trying to find their keys and phone. The items were located outside the city at her friend’s residence, and the person was transported to the residence by a Perry Township officer.
— Officers on patrol in the 2800 block of East State Street at 11:28 p.m. Thursday located a vehicle registered to a woman with an active warrant. Officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle but did not locate the wanted person.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:56 p.m. Thursday to check for a reported water line break. No water line break was located.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 7:33 p.m. Thursday for a reported assault. They advised that a man had struck them in the face multiple times at a nearby business. The person had no visible injuries and did not need medical attention. He filled out a statement form. Officers then spoke with the man in question who denied the allegation and had no visible markings on his hand. He also filled out a statement form, and the matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 6:23 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check which turned into a medical call. The caller requested officers speak with her ex-husband who stated that he was dying. Officers learned that the man needed an oxygen mask and was suffering from severe back pain. The fire department and EMT responded to tend to the man, and he was transported by EMT.
— Officers responded to the 2100 block of Monroe Street at 12:05 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question who advised that they weren’t feeling well and their chest hurt. They were transported to the hospital by EMT.
— Officers located a man who left a painting in the lobby of the police department and left the previous day in the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 11:41 a.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the man, who admitted to dropping off the picture, but couldn’t give a reason why he had done so. He asked if he could have it back, and officers advised him to just go to the station and ask for it.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cleveland Street at 10:17 a.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers confirmed that the person in question was okay.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 6:32 Thursday regarding potential harassment. The caller advised that they had received multiple voicemails from an unknown man which included explicit comments. The woman requested officers advised the man not to contact her again. The man was advised to cease any contact with the woman and that they could face charges if they failed to do so.
