— Officers observed a single-vehicle crash without injuries on Sunset Boulevard at 8:31 p.m. Monday. The vehicle went off the roadway, striking a sign. The driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation to verify they weren’t experiencing a medical issue.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Westview Avenue at 8:09 p.m. Monday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that their ex had barged their way into their home and that while they did not want to pursue charges, they wanted them gone. A criminal trespass form was completed and explained to both parties.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 7:14 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible breaking and entering. When officers arrived and spoke with the caller, they were given several different answers for what took place. Officers advised the caller to keep their doors locked and contact officers immediately if they needed assistance.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Monday for a reported animal at large. The area was checked but no animals were located and nor was there any answer at the given address.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Highland Avenue at 5:16 p.m. Monday for a reported distraught person. Officers were advised that the person appeared to be upset and was at a vacant house. Officers spoke with the person in question, who advised that they were okay and were at the residence helping to clean it up. Officers spoke with the property owner who confirmed the same.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:37 p.m. Monday for a reported medical complaint. Officers found that both parties had protection orders against each other and the male half was transported to the hospital for evaluation and the female half, Amy Coyle, 47, East Liverpool was taken into custody charged with violating a protection order.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 2:29 p.m. Monday for a report of a possibly distraught person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:50 p.m. Monday about a possible scam. Officers advised him that the message he was concerned about was a scam.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Tenth Street at 9:43 a.m. Monday for a report of theft. The caller advised that their family member had been taking money from their bank account. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Union Avenue at 7:18 a.m. Monday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the people in question, and they were advised of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 4:28 a.m. Monday for a report of harassment. The caller advised their daughter was intoxicated and would not stop calling and texting her, and that when she was blocked, she began using other people to contact her. Officers advised her they would contact her daughter and advised her to stop. Officers attempted to call their daughter via public service, but nobody answered the phone.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Cleveland Street at 11:39 p.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them of the complaint and of the city’s noise ordinance.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Washington Avenue at 9:01 p.m. Sunday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that they are going through a breakup with their spouse and ad some questions. Officers spoke with both parties about what their options were.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 6:12 p.m. Sunday for a report of domestic violence. A third-party caller advised that their ex-wife and son got into a physical altercation. Photos of the injuries were taken, and the juvenile, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody for domestic violence and transported to the Louis Tobin Attention Center.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fifth Street at 5:26 p.m. Sunday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that they had seen a man take his dog into a residence by the caller and kicked the dog. Officers spoke with the person in question with multiple other people present, and all advised that the dog had gotten loose multiple times during the day on accident and had been disciplined but never kicked. Officers observed the dog to be acting normally and advised the person to always discipline the dog within reason.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 4:36 p.m. Sunday to speak with an irate person. Officers spoke with the man in question who apologized and said that he was just upset about a staff member interrupting a conversation he was having with another staff member.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 4:08 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man entering an unoccupied house. Officers located the man leaving the house and after confirming with the property owner and realtor to confirm that he did not have permission to be there the man, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody charged with criminal trespass and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers on patrol in the 1900 block of East Third Street at 1:17 p.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle driving at an excessive speed. Officers conducted a traffic stop and found the driver to be confused and potentially experiencing a medical emergency. First responders were contacted to speak with the man, and a family member was notified and eventually transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
