— Officers responded to the 200 block of West 16th Street at 5:02 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised they heard a loud bang the night before and when they went to check on their neighbor, nobody answered. Officers spoke with the person in question, who advised that they were okay.
— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard at 9:59 p.m. Sunday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that the person in question was causing problems. Officers spoke with the person and were able to calm them down for the night and advised the caller that the person had established residency and could not be removed from the residence.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:08 p.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious person behind a church. Officers spoke with the people in question who were building a box for the church.
— Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Fifth Street at 6:25 p.m. Sunday for a report of power lines in the roadway. Officers located the top of a telephone pole that had been snapped and was suspended over the roadway by power lines. The fire department and Ohio Edison were contracted and responded to the scene.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Wilson Street at 5:52 p.m. Sunday for an animal complaint. The caller advised that a dog was left inside a vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle had the windows down, and the weather was not severe.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 2:39 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check on a woman reportedly dancing and talking to themselves. Officers located the woman in question, who is a local and regularly behaves in that manner. Officers monitored them for a short time and nothing out of the ordinary was observed.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 1:24 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The caller advised that their mother’s house is in deplorable condition and that their siblings living at the house weren’t being cared for. Officers spoke with the mother and were allowed into the residence to check the living conditions. Officers observed two dogs in cages and dog feces on the floor near the cages, but the rest of the house appeared fine, with working utilities and a stocked refrigerator. Officers advised her that due to the complaint the housing department would be notified of the incident.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Pershing Street at 9:43 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers knocked on the door, but nobody answered.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 8:24 a.m. Sunday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that a woman was refusing to leave the property and acting oddly. Officers spoke with the woman, advising her to stay off the property, and she was sent on her way.
— Officers assisted the Perry Township Police Department on station at 3:05 a.m. Sunday. Officers stood by while Perry Township officers conducted OVI testing.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 2:40 a.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a person was stealing scrap from the business. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised he’d been given permission.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 11th Street at 1:10 a.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious people in a vehicle. The caller advised that there were people sitting in a car outside her house shining flashlights. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised that they were Door Dashing and could not find the address they were looking for.
— Officers assisted the Perry Township Police Department on station at 12:51 a.m. Sunday. Officers stood by while Perry Township officers conducted OVI testing.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Union Avenue at 12:02 a.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. Officers attempted contact despite not hearing any noise but were unable to speak with the resident in question.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 10th Street at 9:20 p.m. Saturday for a reported dog at large. The caller advised that a dog had run into the road and had nearly been hit by a car. The dog was located at its residence, and the owner advised it had gotten out accidentally.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 8:45 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers determined that the male half, Dominic Pagani, 52, Salem, had threatened the female half and he was taken into custody charged with domestic violence and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the area of Continental Drive at 7:25 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the involved parties, and everything checked okay.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 6:27 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a man dressed in all black was walking around the apartments. Officers spoke with the person who advised they live there and were waiting for a ride.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Continental Drive at 6:04 p.m. Saturday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that when they walked outside their neighbors were yelling at her. Officers attempted contact with the person in question, but nobody answered. Officers advised the caller to call back if the issue happened again.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 5:39 p.m. Saturday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that a woman was sleeping on the ground outside the business. When officers arrived, a bystander advised that the person in question had left prior to their arrival.
