Salem

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 2:26 a.m. Saturday to assist the Ohio State Highway State Patrol with a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, whose name was not listed, was arrested for OVI and brought to the police department for further testing.

— Officers responded to the area of East State Street and Brooklyn Avenue at 11:37 p.m. Friday for a reported barking dog. Officers were unable to speak with anyone at the residence in question.

— Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 6:57 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. Officers spoke with the person in question, who was a resident there and was not doing anything wrong.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:51 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that while in the parking lot of a business, a verbal argument with an unknown man took place and he wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Oak Street at 12:26 p.m. Friday for a report of an illegally parked vehicle. Officers spoke with the owners, who advised they would move the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 6:46 a.m. Friday to assist the Columbiana County Sherriff’s Office. While enroute officers were advised that they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 12:20 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a person possibly experiencing an overdose and requested the fire department and EMT check them. EMT transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 10:29 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a man was looking between vehicles in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they were just shining a flashlight from the roadway at the vehicle. The man was trespassed from the property by the owner.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue at 10:05 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question. The fire department and EMT were requested to respond.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Short Avenue and Summit Street at 9:58 p.m. Thursday located a person with an active warrant out of Columbian County. Officers spoke with the wanted person, John McCallister, 45, Salem, taking him into custody and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Union Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located a vehicle parked in a no parking zone, and after speaking with neighbors foundthe owner was not returning until the next day due to car issues. Sinsley’s Towing responded to the scene and removed the vehicle from the roadway,

— Officers responded to the first block of Elm Avenue at 8:22 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers located an unoccupied gray Chevrolet truck park with nobody around.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Pershing Street at 6:12 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised multiple juveniles were riding their bikes and scooters on the tracks. Officers spoke with the juveniles and advised them to keep off the tracks.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 5:18 p.m. Thursday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers spoke with both parties involved, and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Second Street at 4:03 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a man on a bicycle was allegedly taking pictures of kids at the playground. The man in question left prior to the officers’ arrival, but they were directed to a residence on East Third that he had gone to. Officers spoke with the man who denied taking any pictures and advised he went there to see his kids when they got off the bus but had realized he was too late.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 3:55 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were fine.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:36 p.m. Thursday to check for a wanted person. Officers were advised the person in question was not present at the residence, and the owner allowed officers to check the residence. Everything checked OK and the person was not present.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 5:49 a.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. Officers found the woman in question had left prior to their arrival and had previously been trespassed from the property by law enforcement. The property owners wanted to pursue criminal charges and a warrant for criminal trespass will be issued for the woman in question.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East State Street at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised security lights on their building had an issue. Officers checked the building and everything was OK.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person with a warrant. Officers were advised the warrant was out of the pick-up radius.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties who denied any physical violence and advised them to try to remain separated for the evening.

Sheriff’s Office

— A woman on Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township, at Deer Run Mobile Home Park reported at 6:32 p.m. Thursday that her 13-year-old daughter left her bookbag outside the residence and now it’s missing. She said there was a note left that stated “sorry about your stuff.”

— An alarm was reported at Farmers National Bank, U.S. Route 62, Butler Township at 5:55 p.m. Thursday. All doors and windows were secure at ground level.

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Thursday to a property on state Route 14, Unity Township for a theft report.

— Deputies responded at 4:09 a.m. Thursday to Mick Road, Yellow Creek Township, for a man to be removed, with the caller reporting there was a post conviction, no contact order per Columbiana County Municipal Court protecting her from the man. He was detained and confirmation was made with dispatch and the law enforcement data base. Albert M. Fullerton, 63, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was taken into custody and taken to the county jail. He’s scheduled to face a probable cause hearing for a probation violation on a protection order case on March 25 in county Municipal Court.

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday to Main Street, Knox Township for an assault report. A refusal was signed.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6:28 p.m. Monday to Lower Elkton Road, Fairfield Township for a civil matter, telling the person how to proceed.

Columbiana

— Police responded to private property crashes March 13 at 1:33 p.m. in the 1100 block of state Route 11 and at 4:16 p.m. in the 100 block of South Main Street.

— An officer responded to suspicious activity at 3:02 p.mm March 9 in the 600 block of state Route 7.
