Salem

–Officers responded to the 200 block of West Eighth Street at 10:20 p.m. Monday to check for a person with an active warrant. Officers were unable to speak with the man in question.

–Officers responded to the 2000 block of Oak Street at 9:48 p.m. Monday for an ongoing neighbor dispute. The caller advised his neighbor had put up a no trespassing sign near the property line and wanted it documented.

–Officers responded to the 1800 block of Whinnery Road at 9:51 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on a juvenile. Officers spoke with the juvenile in question and their mother, who advised he was being unruly. The mother was advised of her options for unruly charges.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 9:39 p.m. Monday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a man had tried to get into the store after close. Officers were unable to locate the person in question.

–Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 9:09 p.m. Monday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with both parties, who advised they were arguing, and nothing physical had occurred. The female half left for the evening.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 7:37 p.m. Monday to check the residence for a man with an active warrant. Officers were unable to speak with the man in question.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of East Perry Street at 6:12 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on a man who allegedly arguing with family and acting unreasonably. Officers spoke with the person in question, and everything was determined to be OK at that time. The fire department and EMT also responded due to the incident involving an issue with medication dosage, but the person refused treatment.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Oak Street at 5:39 p.m. Monday for a report of a possibly rabid skunk. Officers did not observe any signs of rabies in the skunk, and an Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer was contacted and advised of the incident.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 9 a.m. Monday for a report of harassment. The caller advised his ex-girlfriend would not leave him and his friend alone. Officers spoke with the ex who advised the caller still has property at her residence and wants to get it back to him. Officers advised her the caller did not want anything back, and she advised that she would not bother them again.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Pine Lake Road at 5 a.m. Sunday to check for a vehicle involved in a hit and skip within the city of Salem. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle at that time.

— Officers on patrol in the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 5:46 a.m. Sunday. The driver, William Pratz, 33, East Liverpool, was found to be operating the vehicle impaired with a blood alcohol content of .136 and was cited for OVI.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Prospect Street at 3:21 p.m. Saturday to assist the Salem Police Department with a breaking and entering call. Officers assisted until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 344 and Chestnut Grove at 10:16 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle left prior to officers’ arrival, and everything appeared to be okay. The caller was advised to call if the vehicle returned.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:58 p.m. Friday to assist the Salem Police Department with traffic control for a crash. Officers assisted until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to Taylor Avenue at 2:23 p.m. Friday for a reported tree down across the roadway. Officers attempted to remove the tree but were unable to do so due to its size. The road crew was contacted and responded to clear the tree.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Drive at 11:27 p.m. March 19 for a report of juveniles not being properly secured in a car seat. Officers were advised that the aunt was attempting to leave while holding a toddler, and a family member properly secured the car seats and drove them to their destination.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 500 block of Florida Avenue at 6:05 p.m. March 19 for a report of a vehicle that was smoking. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers on patrol in the 1000 block of West State Street at 1:09 a.m. March 19 located a suspicious vehicle at a closed business. Officers found the vehicle to be unoccupied and secure.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:32 p.m. March 17 for a reported suspicious vehicle at a closed business. Officers found the vehicle to be unoccupied and secure.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of debris in the roadway at 7:43 p.m. March 16. The debris was found to be a popcorn machine in multiple pieces, and officers cleared it from the roadway.

— Bransen Graham, 19, Columbiana, was cited for failure to maintain control after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 344 went off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox, and went into an embankment at 5:52 p.m. March 16. Graham refused medical treatment on scene, and his vehicle was removed by Kaiser Towing.
