Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy was dispatched at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday to a property on Miller Road, Center Township for a 911 hangup call. Dispatch called the number back and spoke to someone who said a family member was having some type of medical issue and an ambulance was not required at this time. Upon the deputy’s arrival, the person was being transported to a hospital in Mahoning County by a family member.
— A person was reported causing a disturbance at a residence on state Route 164, Washington Township at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies made contact with Raymond C. McCulley, 44, Salineville and took him into custody on an active warrant out of Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. Upon checking, the warrant was issued in the domestic relations division, with McCulley ordered released Wednesday.
— Neighbor troubles were reported at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday on Center Road, Knox Township when a man reported his neighbor came onto his property and was speaking with the people trimming his trees. He and the neighbor then got into a verbal exchange of words before the neighbor went back to his property.
— A deputy responded at 7:28 a.m. Tuesday to the B & S Carryout on state Route 39, Salineville for a private property accident when one driver pulled into the parking lot as another was backing from a parking spot and stopped to proceed forward, with the first driver’s vehicle striking the other vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles. The first driver reported not seeing the other vehicle until it was too late. The first driver had a warrant for his arrest. Nicholas Smith, 26, Lewis Road, Salineville, was taken into custody and transported to the county jail for charges related to drug possession and tampering with evidence. His vehicle was left on the property with permission of the property owner. The other vehicle was driven away by the owner.
— A breaking and entering report was taken on South 12th Street, Knox Township at 8:26 p.m. Saturday.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:44 p.m. Tuesday for suspicious activity. The caller advised someone had knocked on their door multiple times. Officers did not observe anyone in the area. The caller was advised to keep their doors locked.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of Summit Street at 8:47 p.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised their brother and daughter were threatening to harm her and her daughter had a warrant for her arrest. The brother, William Hively Jr., 55, Salem, was arrested for domestic violence and the daughter, Amanda Pedro, 36, Salem, was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. Both were transported to the police department for processing and later transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of East State Street at 8 p.m. Tuesday for a reported protection order violation. Thomas Welsh Jr., 40, Salem, was standing outside of the protected person’s vehicle while they were loading their daughter inside the vehicle. Welsh advised he did not know it was them, and the caller advised officers they were inside Kast Iron Soda Works together. Officers took Welsh into custody and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question, and he advised that he was OK and was just sleeping.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Union Avenue at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday for a possible overdose. Officers spoke with the person in question, and the fire department and EMT responded. The man was transported to the hospital.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised an unfamiliar vehicle was parked in front of her house. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised she was there to pick someone up who had requested a ride.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday to check for a woman with an active warrant. Officers were unable to locate the woman in question.
— Officers observed a vehicle whose registered owner did not have a valid license in the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday. Officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found that the driver, whose name was not listed, had an active warrant out of Trumbull County. Officers took the man into custody and transported them to the police department. Trumbull County advised it had nobody available to come pick the man up and he was released.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 11:49 a.m. Tuesday for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area for the vehicle in question but were unable to locate the vehicle.
— The school resource officer was advised by school administrators of a student having some issues at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. First responders and EMT responded to the school, and the student was transported to Akron Children’s Boardman by EMT.
— Officers responded to the area of East School Street at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers spoke with the owner who moved the vehicle.
Leetonia
— An area resident was given a trespass warning at 4:49 p.m. March 19 in the 300 block of Main Street, where she was trying to round up one of her runaway cats.
— Police checked a building and perimeter in the Coke Ovens park, where they observed an open bay door on a storage building at 10:30 p.m. March 19.
— A resident in the 200 block of Elm Street reported a theft of more than $2,000 at 3:30 p.m. March 20.
— Jayden Huddleston, no address listed, was cited for expired registration and driving with an expired driver’s license at 2:04 a.m. March 21 near state Route 344 and Commerce after a routine traffic stop. He was provided a courtesy transport by Perry Township police.
— A welfare check was performed on a disabled vehicle at 6:42 p.m. March 22 in the 200 block of Chestnut Street. She was waiting for a tow truck.
— An individual was given a warning for pedestrians in the roadway and a courtesy transport at 8:03 p.m. March 21 to Dollar General. The individual, dressed in all black, had been photographing the sunset on the state Route 344 bridge.
Lisbon
— An individual was given a trespass warning at 10:28 a.m. March 12 in Dollar General on Rose Drive, after becoming agitated when store personnel declined him service.
— A male subject reported at 2:21 a.m. March 16 in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue that he had sent photos of his genitals to a woman he met on TikTok days ago and now she was threatening to expose the photos if he didn’t send them $1,000. He was advised to not send the money and to block the suspect online as well as through his phone.
— An officer responded to the 300 block of East High Street at 5:38 p.m. March 13 for traffic control after for a downed utility pole.
— Police responded to the 100 block of East High Street at 1:18 a.m. March 14 to assist with traffic control during an active house fire.
— A caller reported at 6:46 p.m. March 6 that her neighbors in the 200 block of West Spruce had been arguing. Upon arrival, participants verified that it had not been physical and the male half was waiting for a ride to leave.
— Police investigated a complaint about 4 wheelers and dirt bikes on the roadway at 8:02 p.m. March 12 in the 400 block of West Washington.
— An officer investigated a complaint about telecommunication harassment at 2:18 a.m. March 17 in the 200 block of North Beaver Street.
— A disabled vehicle was provided with assistance at 9:17 p.m. March 16 on Lincoln Way before Smith Gas.
— An officer investigated another complaint about dirt bikes at 3:36 p.m. March 17 in the 300 block of West Pine Street.
— Darien Greenlea, no address listed, was trespassed at 1:23 p.m. March 12 from Circle K in the 300 block of North Market St.
