Sheriff’s Office

— A woman on Buck Road, Knox Township reported at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday that her landlord was at the residence pounding on the front door causing a disturbance. While en route, dispatch advised to disregard due to the landlord leaving in her vehicle.

— A Sebring woman at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday requested a welfare check on her 8-year-old daughter, who was staying at her father’s residence on Speidel Road, Hanover Township. A deputy observed the 8-year-old to be fine and spoke with the father.

— A resident on Sprucevale Road, Middleton Township, reported at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday that a man arrived at his residence in a red vehicle inquiring on purchasing the residence, which is not for sale. He then left.

— Deputies were dispatched at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday to a domestic dispute on Echo Dell Road, Middleton Township, where both parties involved said they were only arguing. There were no physical marks on either person. The man had warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County jail, but his name was not listed on the report.

— A woman on Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, called at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday to report a man who was staying at her residence for a couple of days was now leaving. She found him trying to enter the residence through a window to obtain his belongings. She told him to come back the next day to get his belongings.

— A woman on Darlington Road, Middleton Township reported at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday that a man from State Line Road, Middleton Township, kept driving up and down the road in his blue vehicle, pulled into her driveway on her property, flipped her off, then left. A deputy spoke to the man by phone and told him to stay off of the woman’s property.

— Walter Ray Fortney, 71, state Route 164, Leetonia, was taken into custody for violation of a protection order after a deputy was dispatched to Center Township regarding the alleged violation at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday. The victim said Fortney was yelling towards him from across the property line and taking photographs of him while he was mowing his yard. The deputy made contact with Fortney, who showed the picture he took which clearly showed the protected person, in violation of the order to not use any form of electronic surveillance on the protected person.

— A man on Bayard Road, West Township reported at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday that his roommate moved out and won’t come to get the rest of their belongings.

— A deputy at 7:24 p.m. Monday returned a call and made contact with a Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township residence regarding a civil matter, advising them how to proceed. The deputy attempted to contact the other party, but received no answer and left a message.

— A deputy at 6:54 p.m. Monday returned a call regarding a protection order violation on Plymouth Street, Hanoverton. The deputy was sent video footage and after receiving it, told the caller the issue would be civil.

— While in the custody of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at the East Liverpool City Hospital emergency department at 5:39 a.m. Monday, Helen I. Reynolds, 57, Annesley Road, East Liverpool was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of official business.

— Deputies responded at 8:56 p.m. Sunday to Waterford Road, Unity Township for one to be removed. While en route, deputies were advised the person involved had an active arrest warrant. Upon arrival, deputies were told the person ran into the woods and then checked the immediate and surrounding areas. Christine Christian, 49, Waterford Road, East Palestine, was found and transported to jail on the arrest warrant.

— A tire was reported in the middle of the road on Sell Road at 2:40 a.m. March 27. The area was checked for a possible traffic crash, but nothing was located.

Leetonia

— An officer responded at 7:13 p.m. March 29 to the area of Family Dollar, where a car part in the middle of the roadway was removed as a traffic hazard.

— Harassment was reported at 6:10 p.m. March 29 in the Lisbon and State streets by a passerby. The alleged victim claimed the juveniles who were playing basketball yelled racial slur at him, which the juveniles denied instead saying they yelled “Fords suck.” Hours later, the same officer would respond to the location again to investigate a fight and would tell them to leave the area.

— Police responded at 4:04 p.m. March 30 to the 200 block of Ridge Street to investigate a domestic in progress between a woman and her daughter. Apologies were exchanged and the officer cleared, after the exchange was relayed as just verbal in nature.

— An officer investigated a juvenile complaint at 5:49 p.m. March 26 on the100 block of Main Street, where a witness reported that one juvenile was shooting at another with a BB gun. Upon investigation, it was revealed to be a battery powered toy gun that shoots polymer beads not a BBs.

— Officers conducted a search 10:37 p.m.. March 28 in the 300 block of Waddell Street, where they recovered prescription packets of different anxiety, sleeping and stress medication from a backyard shed after a traffic stop. A day later, a residence of this address notified police that someone had opened an account with Verizon in her name and racked up more than $5,000 in charges, learning about it when she received the bill in the mail. She was advised to put a credit freeze on her account.

— Brandon Crisp, no address listed, was cited at 9:08 p.m. March 28 for driving under suspension, after a routine traffic stop in the area of State and Lisbon streets.

— Norfolk Southern was notified at 2:09 a.m. March 28 of issues with the crossing gates in the area of Chestnut and Hazel streets.

Lisbon

— Officers investigated a parking complaint at 8:14 a.m. March 27 near North Market and Pine streets.

— Police performed a welfare check at 3:51 p.m. March 27 near the Lisbon village pool, finding a female sleeping on a bench as she waited for her ride.

— A domestic dispute was investigated at 6:11 a.m. March 29 in the 300 block of East Chestnut Street. In the absence of any violence and neither party wanting to pursue charges. The male half left for the night.

— Officers responded to a verbal argument at 1:57 p.m. March 28 in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue between a boyfriend and his girlfriend, whose father allegedly threatened the male half who had left the scene before police arrival.

— A suspicious female was asked to not return to Smith Oil at 11:56 p.m. March 30 as they didn’t want to serve her any longer.

— A lockout was reported March 26 at Wesbanco in the 200 block of West Lincoln Way.

— A resident reported at 11:44 p.m. March 27 that someone had egged his residence in the 400 block of West Washington Street.

— Police stood by at 12:42 p.m. March 30 in the area of North Beaver and Chestnut streets, where a male had fallen from a scaffold until the ambulance’s arrival before responding to Dickey Drive to assist with a landing zone for an air ambulance.

— An officer was dispatched at 3:36 p.m. March 26 to the 200 block of East Lincoln Way to investigate complaints of motorists driving down an one-way alley the wrong way and almost causing collisions. Upon arrival, he observed that someone had placed a large commercial dumpster in front of the “Do Not Enter” and “One-Way” signs after emptying it. The trash company was advised to move the dumpster away from the signage.

— Police responded at 6:35 p.m. April 1 to the area of Garfield and Pendleton streets for reports of a female home improvement solicitor going to door-to- door without a permit. She was advised on how to acquire a permit before going door-to-door again.
