— A deputy responded at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday to Elkton Auto Corral, Scroggs Road, Elkrun Township, for an alarm, but the owner advised it was a false alarm.

— James Merino, 68, Benton Road, Salem, was charged with burglary, a fourth-degree felony, and taken to the Columbiana County jail after deputies were dispatched at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday to a burglary at a residence on Lisa Lane, Center Township. The residents alleged that Merino kicked in their door and entered the residence. A deputy noted damage to the door. Merino, who’s the land owner, was evicting the victims from an adjacent property, however, the property where the incident occurred was not noted in the eviction notice.

— A woman on state Route 14, Unity Township, reported at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday that her sister-in-law, in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, was continuously harassing her by telephone. A deputy spoke with the sister-in-law by telephone and told her to have no contact with the woman.

— A woman on Depot Road, Center Township, reported at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday that she just reviewed her video surveillance and saw a person in a gray hoodie trying to get into her back porch at 2:30 a.m. April 5.

— A Canton caller at 9:27 p.m. Tuesday requested a welfare check on her son and daughter who live with their grandmother on Ridge Road, West Township. She wanted the welfare check due to not being able to make contact with them. A deputy spoke by telephone with the grandmother who said everything was fine and said they do not want any contact with the caller. The deputy spoke with the caller by telephone and she was advised.

— A woman on Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township at Deer Run Mobile Home Park reported at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday that her neighbor was spinning his tires on his vehicle and rocks went onto her vehicle. There was no damage at this time.

— A man on Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township reported at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday that people were trespassing on his property. A deputy checked the property but didn’t find anyone.

— Deputies were dispatched at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday to Rochester Road, West Township for a person who was making suicidal threats. The person was transported to a hospital in Summit County by family members.

— A man from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania reported at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday that he had his black 1994 Chevrolet 2500 Truck parked on a Cannon Mills Road, Madison Township property and now it’s missing.
