— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:47 a.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that they were leaving their friend’s apartment to go home, and an unknown person had begun following her. Officers checked the area, but nobody was located. Officers advised the caller to call back if needed.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on South Lincoln Avenue for a traffic violation at 12:07 a.m. Friday. Officers determined the driver, Travis Milliron, 40, Salem, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody and transported to the police department charged with OVI. He was released to a sober family member.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 9:37 p.m. Thursday about an unwanted person contacting them. Officers gathered information and provided the caller with information on dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Union Avenue at 9:16 p.m. Thursday for a report of criminal mischief. The caller advised that a juvenile known to her son had been throwing eggs at the rear of the home. Officers located their vehicle and found that the juveniles were participating in a senior prank game that high school seniors were participating in. They were advised to get rid of the eggs and did so while on scene. They were advised not to continue the pranks with eggs, or the school would be notified. They all understood and were released on the scene.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 8:09 p.m. Thursday for a reported vehicle fire that was also causing the garage to catch fire. Officers provided traffic control while the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. Officers gathered some information about the vehicle and stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the area of Jefferson Avenue and Whinnery Road at 7:29 p.m. Thursday for a report of an obstructed roadway. Officers found that the road was starting to cave in and a hole was opened. Officers placed safety cones around the hole, and the street department was notified to check on it.

— Officers responded to the 2100 block of Merle Road at 7:21 p.m. Thursday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle in question and advised them to keep their music down, which he agreed to do.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 6:32 p.m. Thursday about an issue that had been taking place at school involving her son. They provided a written statement, and the school resource officer was advised of the situation and will contact the caller.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:46 p.m. Thursday to speak with the manager about trespassing a person who had threatened an employee. Officers spoke with the manager and employee and found that it was a matter regarding comments made over text or social media provoking the person in question. Officers filled out a trespass form to be served at a later time and advised the employee to cease contact with the person.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue at 5:48 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible overdose. Emergency Personnel arrived on scene and spoke with the person in question who was passing in and out of coherence. EMT arrived and transported the person to the hospital for further treatment.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 3:54 p.m. Thursday who advised their juvenile son was missing. Officers took the information and the juvenile was entered into LEADS.

— While in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 3:46 p.m. Thursday observed a verbal altercation. Officers advised the involved parties to stay away from each other, and they separated.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 3:33 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located vehicles that the caller advised had not moved in some time. Officers placed red warning tags on the vehicles.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Seventh Street at 3:11 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a city resident. Officers were able to speak with the person in question, who advised that they were fine.

— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of West State Street at 2:37 p.m. Thursday observed fresh graffiti on the west side of the overpass.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Walnut Street at 9:50 a.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located the vehicle, which was parked over the sidewalk, and advised the owner of the complaint. The owner advised that the vehicle would be moved.

— Officers responded to the area of Centennial Park at 12 a.m. Thursday for a report of people in the park after hours. Officers located the people in question and advised them to move along.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 10:43 p.m. Wednesday for an unknown dispute. The caller advised a man she had met in a bar was holding onto her purse and would not let her leave. When officers arrived, the caller had all their belongings and did not want officers to attempt to locate the man because he had left the bar. She was provided with a courtesy transport home.

— Officers responded to the1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:26 p.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that an unknown person had thrown rocks at her door and was pounding on it. Officers checked the area but found nothing out of the ordinary around and advised the caller to contact them again if needed.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Howard Avenue at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with the people involved who advised that everything was okay, and that had just had a dispute over property. They agreed to be civil.

— Officers responded to the area of Franklin Avenue and Aetna Street at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a man wearing all black was sitting at the corner and had nearly been struck by a vehicle. Contact was made with the man, who was found to be a juvenile that had been reported missing. His mother responded and was able to get them into the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday for a reported missing juvenile. Officers collected information and found the juvenile had left the residence due to an argument over chores. Officers later located the juvenile in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Avenue and returned them to their residence.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Maple Street at 5:59 p.m. Wednesday for a reported drug complaint. Dispatch viewed two juveniles on a park camera rolling marijuana joints. Contact was made with both juveniles, and the contraband was confiscated and properly disposed of. Both juveniles were advised of drug laws and of park regulations, and the contraband was confiscated and properly disposed of.

— Officers on patrol responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Perry Township Police Department. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers on patrol in the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday stopped a dirt bike in the roadway. Officers gave the rider a warning for the operation and gave them direction on ways to legally commute to work.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 2:56 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer complaint. Officers spoke with the caller about a vehicle which had been repossessed, and officers advised them that the matter was civil in nature.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers located the person in question, who advised that they were okay and would call if she needed any help.

— The school resource officer was advised by a student of an incident that happened outside the school at an unknown location two weeks prior at 1:34 p.m. Wednesday. All information was gathered and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East Third Street at 1:34 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were okay and just frustrated with their healthcare service. Officers spoke with a family member on scene that advised they would be looking after them.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the area of Jennings Avenue and West Second Street at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday for a report of lines down. The lines were removed from the roadway.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Madison Avenue at 11:24 Wednesday for a reported civil issue. Officers spoke with the involved parties and determined that the issue was civil in nature. Officers advised both parties of the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday for a reported irate person. Officers found that the people in question were separated, and one had left prior to officers’ arrival. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Sixth Street at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday to assist adult probation. Officers were requested to transport a person to the Columbiana County Jail and did so.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:01 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious person knocking on the caller’s door. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers on patrol on the 100 block of West State Street at 12:17 a.m. Wednesday observed a person at a business they had previously been trespassed from. Officers placed the man, Ryan Armstrong, 41, Salem, and placed him into custody charged with criminal trespass and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person trespassing at a business. Officers spoke with the man in question, Matthew Crowl, 47, Salem, and took him into custody charged with criminal trespass and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to a business in the 700 block of West State Street at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found that nothing criminal had occurred. The manager of the business arrived and handled the situation.

— Officers responded to the area of Waterworth Memorial Park and sunset Boulevard at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a disorderly man. Officers spoke with the man, who was intoxicated, and they had a family member come pick them up.

— Officers responded to the area of West State Street and Jennings Avenue at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. Everything checked okay and the juveniles left the area.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of West Wilson Street at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that the woman in question’s boyfriend had taken her phone and he was worried for her safety. Officers spoke with both and the male half advised that he had taken the woman’s phone over relationship issues, while the female half advised that she was not afraid to be at the residence. The woman obtained possession of her phone, and both were advised to call back if needed.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Avenue at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday for a reported reckless operator. The vehicle left the city limits prior to officers’ arrival, and the caller was transferred to the proper law enforcement agency.
