In a story in Wednesday's edition about the proposed 0.5% Leetonia income tax increase it should have been reported that Leetonia receives approximately 11% of the property tax collected from residents, with the remaining property tax collected going to the Leetonia Exempted Village School District and non-village levies. No property tax collected is received by the state, and the only property tax received by the county government directly is for debt retirement as required by law.
