— Officers responded to the 300 block of East State Street at 10:23 p.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that juveniles were seen looking into businesses from the front window. Officers checked the area and observed the juveniles walking on Second Street accompanied by their parents.
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Edgewood Drive at 8:33 p.m. Sunday for a possible fire. Officers determined that there was no structure fire, but the homeowner was burning brush. They were advised of the burning laws and put the fire out.
— Officers responded with the fire department and EMT to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8 p.m. Sunday for a reported combative patient. The staff advised that the person in question had been threatening staff members and was not acting properly, and that they wanted them to be transported to the hospital for evaluation. EMT transported them without incident.
— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 6:55 p.m. Sunday regarding taking temporary custody of a friend’s daughter. The caller advised that a friend had asked her to take care of her teenage daughter for a few weeks. The caller agreed to do so but wanted advice on who she could contact to assist. Officers advised them to contact Child Protective Services if they chose to watch the juvenile. The caller advised that she would do so.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 5:08 p.m. Sunday for a reported verbal dispute. Officers advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 2:48 p.m. Sunday for a reported shoplifter. The caller advised that a man had come into the store and taken items and that he was in the parking lot with a woman. Officers located the person in question, Christopher Halfhill, 30, Irondale, and a search of his person located the stolen items. While speaking with the woman, Jasmine Lockett, 32, Lisbon, gave officers a false name and while conducting a probable cause search of their vehicle possible narcotics were located. Halfhill was taken into custody charged with theft and drug paraphernalia, and Lockett was taken into custody charged with drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice. Both were transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of New Garden Avenue at 2:37 p.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers locate the vehicle in question and advised them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Arch Street at 12:23 p.m. Sunday for a reported dog at large. The caller advised that the animal belonged to their neighbors and that they had already contacted them. The owner responded to collect the animal and officers advised them of the city’s ordinance for dog at large.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 11:32 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers located an elderly man that appeared to be extremely confused. Medical personnel responded and the man was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Woodland Avenue at 10:32 a.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that they had been in a verbal argument with another resident, and they had locked her out of the house. While officers were present, the other party opened the door, and the caller gathered some belongings and left the residence for the evening.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8:43 a.m. Sunday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with staff members on scene, who advised that everything was okay.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 4:18 a.m. Sunday for a reported intoxicated person. The caller advised that the person in question had returned home intoxicated gotten into an argument with the caller and left prior to officers’ arrival. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person. They were advised to call back if needed.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 9:47 p.m. Saturday for a reported person to be removed. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 4:42 p.m. Saturday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that they were concerned their son was experiencing mental issues and requested they be transported for evaluation. Officers stood by until medical personnel arrived and transported the juvenile to Akron Children’s Hospital.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 3:18 p.m. Saturday for a noise complaint. Officers spoke with the woman in question and advised them to lower their voice.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 4:02 a.m. Saturday for a reported noise complaint. Officers advised them to keep it down for the night.
— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an OVI at the police department at 3:55 a.m. Saturday. Officers conducted an intoxilyzer test on the person in question without issue.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue at 10:47 p.m. Friday for a reported custody issue. The caller advised that their ex had attempted to bribe them with attorney fees to avoid going back to court for their shared child’s custody during the school year. Officers advised them that a report would be on file.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 9:07 p.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised they heard a commotion outside and when they went out to check, they observed clothes and a pack of cigarettes on the ground. Officers checked the area and spoke with another neighbor who advised they did not hear or see anything unusual. Officers did not locate anything unusual.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 2:58 p.m. Friday for a reported juvenile issue. Officers spoke with all parties involved and were provided with multiple accounts of what had occurred. Officers advised all parties to stay away from each other, and the school resource officer was advised of the incident.
