Sheriff’s Office

— At 9:34 p.m. Monday, a deputy was dispatched to a Walnut Street address in Leetonia for a possible domestic and spoke with the parents of the juvenile involved, learning their 14-year-old was throwing a tantrum, possibly due to a bipolar diagnosis. The juvenile broke the fish tank causing water to go across the floor. The juvenile was now under control and the parents did not want further assistance They advised no assault or domestic occurred.

— A woman on Lakewood Drive, Unity Township spoke with a deputy at 9:13 p.m. Monday regarding a custody issue with her current husband, advising her juvenile daughter did not feel safe at home with him and he was telling her the daughter had to return home. She was told it’s a civil issue and to contact Juvenile Court.

— A possible domestic issue was reported at 8:43 p.m. Monday at Barnett’s Motel on U.S. Route 62, Salem. Multiple units were checked with no contact. Other residents advised they heard it, but were unable to give a definitive location.

— Deputies were dispatched to Wayne Township on Alderlick Road for a report at 7:40 p.m. Monday regarding an assault between two women. One said she was punched in the face, but further examination showed no indication of physical marks. The other woman said the other half scratched her arm and put her hands on her neck, with a fresh scratch mark observed along her left arm and red marks on her neck. She did not want to press charges and just wanted to get her property and leave. The other half agreed and the deputy advised her that she appeared to be a danger to other people and she agreed to go to a hospital for voluntary admission.

— A deputy at 7:27 p.m. Monday spoke to a resident of Woodville Road, Fairfield Township in reference to his neighbor cutting grass on his property. He was concerned the neighbor was attempting to annex his property. He was told it’s a civil issue and to contact the municipal courthouse.

— At 6:57 p.m. Monday, deputies served a resident of Votaw Drive, Lisbon with five protection orders, with his firearms and ammo ordered turned over to law enforcement, including two guns and two boxes of ammo and 12-gauge shotgun shells.

— A deputy spoke to a man from Brushville Road, Unity Township at 3:27 p.m. Monday regarding his juvenile son, who was pinched by the mother, leaving a bruise. He did not believe he was in immediate danger of serious physical harm. He said he’ll be contacting child protective services in the morning. The incident will be documented.

— A protected person in Knox Township reported at 12:36 p.m. Monday that the person he has the protection order against has been observed on cameras driving up and down the road periodically and also driving by the person’s active work sites. He has not been seen on his property, stopping or video taping him. The incident will be documented.

— A deputy at 2:53 p.m. Monday spoke to a Stookesberry Road, Elkrun Township man at the station in reference to his soon-to-be ex-wife poisoning his food with laxatives. A report was taken and he left to obtain medical treatment.

— A Center Township resident reported possible fraud at 8:09 a.m. Monday, saying they gave their personal information to what is believed to be a fraudulent individual. Financial institutions were contacted.

— A suspicious man was reported attempting to shoplift and causing a disturbance at 7:29 a.m. Monday at Duke & Duchess, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township. After further investigation, the man, of Alliance, was later given a criminal trespass warning against returning to the gas station and was given a courtesy transport to the county line.

— Deputies responded to Elkrun Township for a possible domestic situation at 7:37 p.m. Sunday on Church Hill Road. A man said his 7-year-old son was swinging a golf club around while swearing and talking back to him. He took him inside and spoke to him about his behavior. He then took off to his sister, who then attempted to confront the man. He told her to go back to her side of the property. No threats or physical violence occurred.

— A deputy at 7:22 p.m. Sunday was advised of a call back for a domestic dispute on Lakewood Drive, New Waterford between the caller and a man. The caller reported no threats or physical violence occurred, however, the man was verbally abusive. She requested some information and was told to call back if there’s an issue.

— Menacing involving a knife was reported at 4:35 p.m. Sunday on Bell Road, Elkrun Township. A deputy had been at the address earlier in the shift regarding a civil matter involving personal property. A deputy spoke to a woman, who was checked for weapons and did not have a knife or any other deadly weapon. The caller refused to exit the residence to speak with the deputy and the call was determined to be unfounded. The earlier call was at 3:48 p.m. Sunday when the woman was trying to get the rest of her property to be fully moved out and the man was refusing to let her get the rest of her belongings. Since she stayed the night before, still was getting mail there and has personal property inside, she was told she’s allowed to gain entry by any means.

— Personnel from Swift Mart in Unity Township called at 3:15 p.m. Sunday to report a possible counterfeit bill. The deputy believed it was just an old bill but was checking with a bank for confirmation.

— A deputy responded at 11:12 a.m. Sunday to Carbon Hill Road, Unity Township, where two dogs were fighting. Deputies talked to both neighbors.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:52 a.m. Sunday on Hadley Road, Unity Township. Contact was made with the driver, who was just waiting on someone.

— A deputy responded to North State Street, New Waterford at 9:45 a.m. Sunday where someone was moving from a residence and two of the parties involved were harassing the other.

— Cattle were reported in the roadway on Sprucevale Road near Clarkson Road, Middleton Township, at 9:40 p.m. May 2. The owner had already moved them off the road and back into the pasture when a deputy arrived.

— A domestic was reported at 5:48 p.m. May 2 on Hamilton Road in Unity Township where deputies made contact with both parties, who were separated. the caller refused to sign anything other than an argument occurred and that her phone was thrown against the wall. No physical injuries were observed and she signed a refusal.

— Deputies responded at 12:24 p.m. May 2 to state Route 644, Hanover Township for an assault involving a knife, with two arrested for assault and an uninvolved person was arrested for obstructing official business and resisting arrest. The two arrested for assault included Cheyenne M. Bush, 20, state Route 644, Kensington, and April D. Brown, 39, Carrollton.

— A welfare check was requested at 8:41 a.m. May 2 at Barnett’s Motel in Salem, but contact could not be made and the investigation led to a residence on Lisbon Road, Salem Township, where a third party claimed the victim was. No one was home and the call was determined unfounded. A while later, the person in question called dispatch and denied all allegations and denied a request for medical or law enforcement services.

Highway Patrol

— William A. Soccorsy, 22, North Jackson, was cited for reasonable control after his northwestbound vehicle struck another northwestbound vehicle driven by Anthony M. Morelli, 27, Belmont, on state Route 11 in Madison Township at 2:50 p.m. April 29, traveling off of the left side of the road. A passenger in the Sorrorsy vehicle, Isabella DeAngelis, 18, was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

— A 16-year-old Hanoverton girl was cited for reasonable control and transported to Canton Aultman for suspected minor injuries after her northbound vehicle on Knox School Road, West Township crossed the center line, traveled off of the left side of the road and struck a guardrail at 11 p.m. April 28.

— A 16-year-old East Liverpool boy was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital with suspected minor injuries after his westbound vehicle went off of the right side of Alderlick Road in Madison Township at 6:36 p.m. April 28, stuck a ditch and struck a tree. His two passengers, also juveniles, suffered suspected serious injuries, with one transported to Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital and the other transported to Mercy Health in Youngstown. No citation was listed on the report, but the report did say alcohol was suspected.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 3:29 a.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a young man had been located on her back porch who had been visiting their son while they were away. It was determined the man had no place to stay and was awaiting a ride from his father. They were transported to the police department where they were picked up by their father.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 10:04 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question and observed them to be experiencing a mental issue. The fire department and EMT responded, and the person was ultimately pink slipped and transported the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by EMT.

— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday for what appeared to be a fight between two juveniles. Officers spoke with both juveniles who advised it was just horseplay. Officers advised them not to do so anymore.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers advised the caller of the appropriate authorities to contact.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday for a reported hit and skip. Officers documented the damage and advised the caller a report would be on file.

— Officers responded to the area of North Cunningham Road and Bentley Drive at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 3:16 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties, and one party left for the evening voluntarily.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Avenue at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.

Leetonia

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Somer Street at 6:33 a.m. April 27 for a reported breaking and entering. The caller advised that approximately $2,000 to $3,000 had been taken from the residence. Officers checked the interior of the residence with nobody located inside.

— Logan Peters, 19, was cited for speeding and issued a summons for improper handling after two loaded pistols were located in his vehicle during a traffic stop at 10:20 p.m. April 25.

— Officers responded to the 38000 block of state Route 344 at 6:10 p.m. April 25 to attempt contact with a wanted person. Officers were unable to speak with the person in question.

— Zachary Gierlich was cited for driving under suspension, failure to control, expired registration, and driving without insurance after his northbound vehicle on Chestnut Street went off the left side of the roadway, struck a fence and continued forward striking the other side of the fence, drove through a neighbor’s yard and struck their parked vehicle before crashing into a garage in the 100 block of Chestnut Street at 2:24 p.m. April 25. Gierlach was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Youngstown for minor injuries.

Columbiana

— Matthew Bueno, 35, New Middletown, was cited for street racing following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 1:34 p.m. April 19 in which officers observed him do a burnout leaving McDonalds.

— An officer responded to the 600 block of East Park Avenue at 7:27 p.m. April 19 in reference to people driving through the yard to go around road construction.

— Benjamin Rolston, 22. North Lima, and Hunter Pyatt, 26, Columbiana, were both cited for driving recklessly following a traffic stop on North Main Street at 9:18 a.m. April 19.
