Salem

— A reckless operator was reported around Franklin Avenue and Whinnery Road at 4:09 a.m. Thursday. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

— Juveniles were reported to be playing outside in the rain without shoes or coats at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday. Officers were unable to locate the juveniles in question.

— A possible fight was reported in the 300 block of West Seventh Street at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday. The homeowner and a friend had a disagreement and glass from the entry door had been broken and caused minor injury to the friend. The homeowner requested the friend leave the scene and they did so.

— Officers checked the 1900 block of East State Street for a man that had left the hospital during a mandatory hold at 1:21 p.m. Wednesday. The person was located and transported to the hospital by EMT.

— Styrofoam was reported in the roadway in the 900 block of South Union Avenue at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday. Shortly after officers arrived, a resident came out to clean the debris.

— A fence in the parking lot of a business in the 1900 block of East State Street was reported to have been broken over the weekend by four juveniles at 9:43 a.m. Wednesday. Officers advised the caller of their options for dealing with the situation.

Perry Township

— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a single-car accident at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of West State Street at 2:24 a.m. Tuesday for a reported unresponsive man. Officers assisted EMT until they were no longer needed.

— Officers assisted the Salem Police Department in searching for a man on state Route 9 at 10:46 p.m. Monday. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.

— A dog barking excessively was reported in the 1200 block of West Perry Street at 8:01 p.m. Monday. Officers advised the dog’s owner of the complaint.

— A two-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck was reported at the intersection of state Route 344 and Cunningham Road at 10:03 a.m. Monday. Officers requested the Ohio State Highway Patrol to respond. After OSHP took command of the scene, officers assisted with traffic control.

— Officers assisted the Salem Police Department with an assault in the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 12:59 a.m. Monday.

— Officers checked on a woman slumped over in a parking lot int the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 2:49 a.m. Sunday. Officers advised the woman to clean up her belongings and return to her residence.

— A noise complaint was reported in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 1:31 a.m. Sunday. Officers advised a resident of the township’s noise ordinance.

— Issaiah Carl, Salem, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1300 block of West State Street at 11:31 p.m. Saturday after he was reported to have threatened to burn down a home.

— A person reported that their neighbor was shooting in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 7:57 p.m. Saturday. Officers did not hear anything while they were in the area.

— David Winters, 41, Leetonia, was cited for OVI after his northbound vehicle was observed traveling at 65-mph in a 45-mph zone at 5:07 p.m. May 15.

— A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the 1700 block of West State Street at 12:57 p.m. May 12 for lack of visible registration. The driver, Dustee Schwartz, Salem, was found to have a suspended license, and the vehicle was not registered. Schwartz was cited for driving under suspension, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
