Salem

— Loud music was reported in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Monday. Officers found a man listening to music outside and they were advised to turn the music down.

— Officers on patrol in the 2900 block of East State Street located a vehicle in the parking lot of a business after hours at 1:05 a.m. Monday. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised that they were just talking and left the area.

— Officers conducted a wellness check on a resident in the 500 block of West Pershing Street at 12:34 a.m. Monday. The caller advised that they hadn’t heard from a relative for several days. Officers spoke with the man in question, who advised that everything was okay.

— Suspicious activity was reported in the 2900 block of East State Street at 10:12 p.m. Sunday. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

— A drive off was reported at a gas station in the 900 block of East State Street at 9:12 p.m. Sunday. Officers gathered information and will investigate the matter.

— A person with an active warrant was located in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Perry Street at 5:12 p.m. Sunday. Officers conducted a traffic stop on their vehicle and the man, Robert Fanfer, 69, Columbiana, was taken into custody and turned over to the Alliance Police Department.

— An alleged assault was reported in the 500 block of East Perry Street at 3:26 p.m. Sunday. Due to conflicting stories, the case will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Further investigation found that one of the people involved had been previously trespassed from the property and a warrant for criminal trespass will be issued.

— Officers assisted the Washingtonville Police Department in locating a person with a medical condition that had left their jurisdiction while driving a vehicle in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and Springfield Avenue at 11 a.m. Sunday. While officers were searching for the vehicle, dispatch advised that the missing person had returned home.

— A juvenile problem was reported in the 600 block of Legacy Lane at 1:55 a.m. Sunday. Officers were unable to locate the juveniles in question.

— A man with an active warrant was located in the 600 block of East Seventh Street at 12 a.m. Sunday. The man, Keith Whorley, 28, Salem, was taken into custody and transported to the police department where he was turned over to the Ohio State Highway Patrol for transport to Portage County.

— A dirtbike was reported in the roadway in the 800 block of West Perry Street at 9:09 p.m. Saturday. Officers spoke with the driver and advised them that dirtbikes are prohibited on the street. He advised that he understood and would keep the bike in the yard.

— Criminal trespassing was reported in the 1900 block of Ellsworth Avenue at 8:34 p.m. Saturday. A young male was reported riding around inside a construction site via trail camera. Officers checked the area, but nobody could be located.

— Officers spoke with two people at the police department at 3:41p.m. Saturday regarding a person harassing them via multiple electronics means despite being instructed to stop multiple times. Officers advised them of how to obtain a restraining order and a copy of the report, and to file additional reports at that time if the person continues to contact or threaten them. Officers also collected evidence for potential telecommunications harassment charges and will attempt to instruct the person in question to cease all contact and the charges that could result from failing to do so.

— Officers on patrol in the 800 block of East State Street were flagged down by a resident regarding a cat trapped in a fenced in area. The fire department responded and was able to assist in freeing the cat.

— An intoxicated man was reportedly being verbally aggressive with household members in the 400 block of West Third Street at 2:13 p.m. Saturday. Officers spoke with the man, and he advised that he would stop and remain separated from his family for the time being.

— Officers checked on a disturbed person in the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 11:25 a.m. Saturday. Officers advised the person in question of the complaint, and they advised they would correct their behavior to prevent further issues.

— John Seddon, 41, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension and left of center after his eastbound vehicle on East Third Street struck a vehicle driven westbound by Zacchaeus Greathouse, 54, Warren at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Seddon was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital by EMT.

— Officers assisted the Perry Township Police Department in searching for a missing man in the 1200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:52 a.m. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate them.

— Officers checked on a person in the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 4:15 a.m. Saturday. Officers spoke with nurses at the facility and were advised that the caller had been hallucinating, and the caller advised that they were okay and had been seeing things that aren’t there.

— A person with a knife was reported in the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 3:37 a.m. Saturday. Officers detained the person with the knife and spoke with everyone involved and were advised that the person with the knife lived there, and someone was trying to force their way into their residence. Neither party wanted to pursue the matter legally.

— Officers located a pickup truck with an unsecured load, which the driver was attempting to strap back down, at the intersection of Southeast Boulevard and Franklin Avenue at 2:59 a.m. Saturday. Officers found the driver, Ricky Clay, 33, Salem, to be intoxicated, and he was cited for OVI. After he was transported home and released from custody, he requested medical attention for mental distress, and he was transported for evaluation by EMT.

— Officers observed a person with an active warrant out of Columbiana County in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:10 a.m. Saturday. Officers took the man, Nicholas Potts, 40, Hanoverton, into custody and while he was being transported to the Columbiana County Jail he made threats towards officers. He was charged with intimidation in addition to the warrant.

— Officers checked on an unconscious woman outside of a woman in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:52 a.m. Saturday. Officers contacted the fire department and EMT to respond and treat them, and the woman was transported by EMT.

— A driver was reported to be unconscious behind the wheel in the drive-thru of a business in the 1800 block of East State Street at 12:23 a.m. Saturday. Officers found the driver, Christian Wayl, 26, Sebring, to be intoxicated and he was cited for OVI and a seatbelt violation and released to a family member.

— Officers on patrol located two vehicles in a parking lot after hours in the 800 block of East School Drive at 10:20 p.m. Friday. Officers spoke with the occupants and advised them that they needed to leave.
