-- A North Madison Avenue resident reported at 1:18 p.m. Saturday that her son had been bitten by a dog being walked on a leash by its owner near the intersection of East Pershing Street and Washington Avenue, but that the owner left the area with the dog before a complaint could be made. The juvenile was medically treated for a minor injury.
-- An officer responded to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:14 p.m. Saturday in reference to a person who had fallen and was unable to get back up. The officer spoke with the person and medical personnel responded to transport the person to an appropriate medical facility for evaluation.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 10:39 p.m. Friday in reference to a juvenile with a gun. Officers found the juvenile unarmed in the front yard. Officers spoke with a parent who said there had been an argument and the juvenile had grabbed a firearm out of a locked box to harm themselves. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
-- Duane J. Stalnaker, 52, Barclay Avenue, Salem, was charged with domestic violence after officers responded to the her home at 9:01 p.m. Friday in reference to a domestic dispute in which he allegedly put his hands on the throat of a member of the household and "racked" his gun multiple times. Multiple marks were observed on the victim's neck consistent with the complaint.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 4:24 p.m. Friday after receiving a 911 call in which the person on the other line was yelling for help. Officers found the location was in Perry Township and the person calling for help was having a medical emergency. Officers stood by until Perry Township police and medical personnel arrived. The person was ultimately transported to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation.
-- Officers responded to the municipal parking lot in the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 3:37 p.m. Friday in reference to people living in a vehicle for approximately two weeks. Officers spoke with the people in question and contacted peer support to respond to assist with housing.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:54 p.m. Friday where the complainant reported his roommate at a previous residence in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue had pushed him to the ground during an argument July 26. Officers spoke to the roommate who claimed there had been no violence during the argument. Medical personnel responded at the complainant's request, but he refused treatment and no injuries were observed. The matter was forwarded to the county prosecutor's office for review.
-- James A. Monteleone, 59, Salem, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash on West State Street at Sharp Avenue at 11:08 a.m. Friday in which was northbound on Sharp Avenue and failed to yield at the stop sign, making a left turn onto West State Street, striking a westbound vehicle in the left turn lane driven by Brad H. Dickerhoof, 65, Alliance. Monteleone was treated on scene for possible injuries.
-- Burdette Solomon, Hanoverton, was cited for failure to obey traffic control devices after her northbound vehicle on South Howard Avenue failed to stop for a red light when turning onto West State Street and struck a vehicle driven by Anthony Danko, Leetonia, as it exited a private lot at 7:22 a.m. Friday.
-- Potential shots fired were reported in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:41 a.m. Friday. Officers checked the area and spoke with multiple people who advised they'd heard something but could not indicate where or anyone who may have been involved. Officers advised the business' employees to contact them if anything further was discovered.
-- A dispute was reported in the 400 block of Washington Avenue at 6:09 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with all parties involved and were advised that the homeowner wanted a roommate to be evicted. The eviction process was explained.
-- A possible domestic in progress was reported in the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 6 p.m. Thursday. Officers were advised that nothing physical had occurred and the male half agreed to stay with his daughter for the evening to help calm the situation.
-- Officers on patrol in the 2400 block of East State Street were flagged down at 5:52 p.m. Thursday and advised of a possible stolen vehicle. While officers were taking the report, the person walked away without signing the LEADS form.
-- Threats were reported in the 200 block of Continental Drive at 6:20 p.m. Thursday. The caller advised that another patient at a medical facility had threatened them. Staff at the medical facility advised that the caller had been moved to a different location to alleviate the issue.
-- Officers spoke with a person by phone at 12:47 p.m. Thursday regarding possible identity theft. The caller was advised of the options for dealing with the situation.
-- McKenzy Pipkins, 20, Salem, was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant and transported to the Columbiana County Jail at 9:42 a.m. Thursday.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:24 a.m. Thursday regarding internet harassment. The person advised officers that a woman had been texting her constantly for the last hour. Officers advised them to instruct the woman to stop texting her, screenshot the messages and block them, and to contact the department with the woman attempted to contact her again.
-- A suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 8:42 p.m. Wednesday. Officers located the person in question and advised them not to return to the caller's residence or surrounding area.
-- Trespassing was reported in the 500 block of East Third Street at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that a man, Kyle Gloss, homeless, had entered the basement of her home through an unlocked door after being told he was not permitted on the property. A struggle ensued, and Gloss pushed the caller, who was pregnant, prompting her to push him back. Gloss was taken into custody charged with burglary, a fourth-degree felony, and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
