-- Officers checked on a person reportedly walking back and forth between the windows of the drive-thru at a business in the 1700 block of East State Street at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the person who advised he needed something to drink, and the fire department and EMT responded due to the person appearing to be under the influence of unknown substances. The man was later transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
-- Officers on patrol in the 600 block of East Euclid Street observed two chickens walking on the sidewalk at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday. Officers attempted to speak with the owner of the animals at their residence but were unable to do so. The report was forwarded to the zoning department.
-- A domestic in progress was reported in the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday. The caller advised that a juvenile they had guardianship for was threatening him. Officers spoke with all parties, and they agreed to separate for the evening.
-- Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday regarding issues with a landlord. The man advised that the landlord had come into his residence while he was away and removed items. The man was unable to name any items that were removed from the residence and did not want to pursue charges but wanted the landlord to leave them alone until they move out. The landlord was advised not to contact the caller any further.
-- Theft from a bank account was reported in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday. Information was gathered and the matter is under investigation.
-- Officers checked on a person reported walking in the 800 block of West State Street in a medical gown at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were walking to a residence on Benton Road and that they were okay.
-- Officers spoke with a woman at the police department that was experiencing a medical emergency at 3:57 a.m. Tuesday. The fire department end EMT responded, and the woman was transported to a medical facility for further evaluation.
-- A tree reportedly fell on a house in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:19 a.m. Tuesday. Officers observed that a tree had fallen on the porch roof and advised that the fire department and Ohio Edison would need to respond.
-- A resident reported that someone was attempting to break into their residence in the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday. Officers did not locate anyone.
-- Officers spoke with a person by phone at 11:51 p.m. Monday regarding an ongoing neighbor dispute. The caller advised that their neighbor is activating their motion sensor light and reporting it to the zoning department. They were advised that the matter was civil.
-- A suspicious person was reported in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 11:06 p.m. Monday. Officers observed a person matching the description and conducted a traffic stop on their vehicle and found that the driver, Darion Valentini, Salem, was driving under suspension. Drug paraphernalia was also located on the passenger seat of the vehicle, and Valentini was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with drug paraphernalia and issued a citation for driving under suspension.
-- A person staying in a garage was reported in the 700 block of East Third Street at 9:27 p.m. Monday. Officers located a man and woman inside the garage and the man, Daniel Dochteman, 59, Salem, was found to have an active warrant out of Columbiana County. Dochterman was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- John McCallister, 55, Salem was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant in the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Third Street at 8:39 p.m. Monday. Contraband was located on McCallister's person during a search incident to arrest, and he was transported to the Columbiana County Jail for the warrant. Potential additional charges are pending lab results.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:36 p.m. Monday about an alleged theft in the 600 block of East Third Street. The person advised that in January his cell phone and debit card had been stolen from his vehicle and that unauthorized charges had been made to his bank account. Officers provided them with a report number to dispute the transactions through their bank.
-- A suspicious person was reported in the area of East State Street and Brooklyn Avenue at 12:40 p.m. Monday. Multiple reports were received of a man swaying while walking in a hospital gown. Officers spoke with the man, who advised he had just been released from the hospital, and transported him back to his residence on Vine Avenue.
-- A person was reported passed out on the sidewalk in the area of East Pershing Street and South Howard Avenue at 4:53 a.m. Monday. Officers found that the person was suffering from drug use and needed medical attention, and the fire department and EMT were contacted to transport them for further evaluation.
-- Suspicious activity was reported in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:31 a.m. Monday. The caller advised that they had heard screaming and when they looked outside, they saw their neighbor's screen door lying in the yard. Officers spoke with the neighbor who advised that he had been drinking and fallen into the screen door.
-- Officers checked the 400 block of Franklin Street at 1:25 a.m. Monday for an elderly person who had left their home at about 10 p.m. and had not been seen since. Officers checked the area and eventually spoke with the caller's brother who advised that the person in question had been admitted to the hospital for evaluation the day prior.
-- A person to be removed was reported at the Salem Regional Medical Center at 8:55 p.m. Sunday. The person in question had an active warrant but was in a state of clear mental distress requiring medical evaluation. After being refused at the emergency room by the charge nurse, the person was transported to another hospital for evaluation by EMT.
-- Samara Martin, 20, Hanoverton, was cited for operation of a vehicle at stop signs after her vehicle failed to yield at the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and Olive Street and was struck by a vehicle driven by Kylee Jones, 22, Lisbon, at 8:38 p.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department about an ongoing neighbor dispute at 4:59 p.m. Sunday. The person advised they had video footage of the neighbor dumping an unknown liquid onto their property. Officers provided them with their options for dealing with the situation.
-- An animal complaint was reported in the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:38 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised that a dog had been locked inside a vehicle. The vehicle was located with the window's cracked and running and food and water accessible to the animal, and officers spoke with the owner who had been in the store for about 10 minutes. Everything checked okay.
-- A medical emergency was reported in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue at 4:24 p.m. Sunday. Officers stood by until the person was transported to the emergency room.
