-- A deputy responded at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday to Lusk Lock Road, Elkrun Township, for a suspicious vehicle, but didn't find it after a search of the area.
-- A case of alleged menacing was reported at 6:48 p.m. Wednesday in the area of McCann Road, Hanover Township.
-- A woman on Ottawa Trail, Middleton Township reported at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday that a woman from Africa was harassing her on Google Chat and email and also hacked into her email. She was advised to contact Google.
-- A caller at 6:31 p.m. Tuesday on Georgetown Damascus Road, Butler Township called twice to report two vehicles with out-of-state plates and two people inside parked in the parking lot of Damascus Friends Church, Walnut Street, Butler Township. Multiple vehicles were in the parking lots due to a church function. A deputy spoke with two people who were church attendees.
-- Deputies were dispatched at 7:49 p.m. Monday to James Drive, Yellow Creek Township, for a domestic. The woman half said she was not injured and did not want to pursue anything. She also said the male half took off to his buddy's house down the road. Deputies responded to that residence and were advised by the homeowner the man took off when he saw deputies arrive. Deputies checked the area, but didn't made contact with him.
-- A juvenile-related incident was reported at 6:22 p.m. Monday by a Brown Street, Center Township resident.
-- A shooting complaint was reported at 5:20 p.m. Monday on state Route 170, Middleton Township. A deputy checked the area but didn't find anyone shooting.
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported at 3:14 a.m. Monday at a residence on state Route 45, Center Township, but the caller said the vehicle took off prior to deputies arriving.
-- A Knox Township resident reported at 11:02 p.m. Saturday that a man was in the ditch and was now walking north on Knox School Road at Bowman Road. A deputy spoke with the man, who's from Sebring, who said he just left an event in the area and was walking toward his residence until his ride arrived. The ride arrived as he was talking with the deputy.
-- A theft incident was reported at 9:35 p.m. Sept. 2 in Elkrun Township on state Route 45. Deputies responded to the home and the incident was resolved peacefully with no criminal charges pending.
-- A man from Yellow Creek Township called at 2:50 p.m. Sept. 2 regarding a disagreement with the mechanic who has his vehicle. He was told it's a civil matter.
Salem
-- A prowler was reported in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday. Officers were unable to locate anything unusual and provided the caller with options for surveillance. They were also advised to keep all doors and windows locked and call back immediately if anything else was observed.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 8:49 p.m. Wednesday, who advised that their son had not returned home from school and refused to come home. Officers spoke with the juvenile by phone, who advised that they would be home after work. The son also stopped at the police department prior to returning home to speak with officers about his side of the story. He was advised that a report would be filed and referred to the juvenile officer, and to contact them immediately if any issues arose after he returned home.
-- An intoxicated driver was reported in the 600 block of East State Street at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday. Officers located the vehicle and were advised by the caller that they had convinced the intoxicated person not to drive, but that while they were switching seats, they had fallen and injured themselves. Due to their injuries, intoxication, and the medication they take, they were transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center, and the caller was picked up by a friend.
-- A dispute during a custody exchange was reported in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday. The father advised that when dropping off their child, the babysitter had begun yelling at the caller regarding the child being in day care. The caller advised they were going to take the child home, and the incident ended with the caller's girlfriend advising that they needed to leave.
-- Officers spoke with a person pulled off the roadway in the 2300 block of East State Street at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday. The person advised that they were okay and had just pulled over because they were very emotional. She advised that she would not drive again until she felt that she could do so safely.
-- Officers checked on a person in the 300 block of North Madison Avenue at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the person in question, and they agreed to be transported to the emergency room by ambulance.
-- A stolen drill bit was reported in the 100 block of Jennings Avenue at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday. The caller advised that he had left the job site where he was working and that the bit was gone when he returned, and that he needed a report on file for his work.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department regarding a reported theft at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. The person advised that while they were at work someone had stolen cash from her purse. Officers provided them with options for dealing with the situation.
-- A person to be removed was reported in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday. Officers advised the person in question that they needed to leave the property, and they collected their belongings and did so.
-- Officer on patrol in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Perry Street observed a wanted person at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday. The warrant was confirmed, and the person, Brook Hunter, 34, Salem, was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
Leetonia
- An officer responded to the first block of Pine Street at 6:48 p.m. Sept. 7 where a resident reported speaking to Angels for Animals regarding trapping stray cats and someone entered the property and released a trapped cat despite clearly marked trespassing signs. The person in question was formally trespassed from the property.
- An officer responded to the 400 block of Walnut Street at 9:33 p.m. Sept. 4 in reference to a juvenile who had spit pickles onto two other juveniles. The juvenile was removed the juvenile from the event at the request of school administration and released him to a family member, noting he is trespassed from all remaining football games at the facility for the rest of the season.
- An officer responded to the 100 block of Walnut Street at 6:04 p.m. Sept. 4 in reference to an open 911 line. The officer spoke with the residents who said their son had been in an argument with them that turned physical. The juvenile was advised to stay in his room the rest of the night. The matter was turned over to the juvenile prosecutor's office.
- An officer responded to to the 100 block of Chestnut Street at 8:40 p.m. Sept. 3 in reference to a blocked manhole causing flooding in residences basements in the area. The officer located the blockage and notified the water department.
Lisbon
- Danielle Rauch, no age or address listed, was cited for OVI, driving under suspension and expired license following a traffic stop on state Route 154 at 2:41 a.m. Sept. 4.
- An officer responded to the 200 block of North Beaver Street at 3:58 p.m. Aug. 29 in reference to a neighbor dispute in which a resident reported her three neighbors had been bothering her by going on her porch and throwing trash on her property. The neighbors share the porch with the resident and said they had only picked up trash off the sidewalk and put it in her trash can. They also claimed the resident had been harassing them since they moved in. They were advised to document any harassment or damage to property.
- Thomas Welsh Jr., no age or address listed, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 1:01 a.m. Aug. 28 in which he was a passenger and found to have a glass pipe commonly used for smoking narcotics.
- Shawtai Beilling, no age or address listed, was arrested on an active warrant after an officer observed her traveling on Market Street at 10:03 p.m. Aug. 24 and knew her to have the warrant for her arrest.
