Sheriff's Office

-- A deputy was dispatched at 6:16 p.m. Saturday to Yeager Drive, Madison Township for a domestic violence report. All parties involved separated for the night.

-- A deputy was dispatched to Buck Road, Knox Township for a medical call involving a person who fell and hit their head and was not responding. Upon arrival, the person was responding and transported to Aultman Alliance Community Hospital, Alliance, by Sebring EMS.

-- Smith Township police dispatch in Mahoning County called at 9:06 p.m. Friday regarding a call about a motorcycle on the property of Williamson's GMC, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township, revving the engine and causing a disturbance. A deputy checked the property but didn't find anything.

-- A deputy was dispatched at 5:0 4 p.m. Friday to an apartment on Grant Street, Center Township, due to an odor. The deputy could not locate any odor and spoke with the homeowner, who said everything was fine.

-- A woman in Washington Township on Haiti Road called at 3:01 p.m. Sept. 29 regarding a possible protection order violation within a property exchange. She was notified by deputies there was no protection order in effect at this time.

Salem

-- An intoxicated person falling and hitting their head was reported in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 12:34 a.m. Monday. Officers spoke with the person and contacted first responders to transport them to the hospital.

-- A dispute was reported in the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 10:23 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with both parties and were advised that they had been in a verbal argument when the male half had begun throwing things, but no physical violence occurred. The male half left for the evening.

-- Theft was reported at a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:07 p.m. Sunday. Officers met the caller and one of the people in question at the business and were advised another had fled in a vehicle. Officers determined that only the person that had fled had been stealing via skip scanning, and the other was released from detention. Officers spoke with the person who had fled on the business's phone and due to the other party's child being with them they agreed to meet officers at the police department to return the child. The child was returned, and officers advised the person in question that they would be issued a court summons for theft.

-- A person to be removed was reported in the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised that her former tenant was on the property and was not wanted there. Officers found nobody at the property.

- A 400 block East Eighth Street resident reported at 1:08 p.m. Sunday reported an old riding mower had been stolen from the property sometime since Sept. 30. The mower is worth approximately $300.

- Judi Morris, Alliance, was cited for marked lanes following a two-vehicle crash on East State Street at 11:23 a.m. Sunday in which she was eastbound and was attempting a left turn form the left-turn lane and attempted to change lanes into the left-turn lane, pulling into the path of a vehicle driven by Hanah Demes, Salem,

- A West 13 th Street resident reported at 3:30 p.m. Saturday someone had taken a propane tank from the home without his knowledge or permission.

- Blake Solmen, 26, West Perry Street, Salem, was charged with criminal trespass at 2:23 a.m. Oct. 3.

- Officers responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Sugartree Alley at 9:29 a.m. Friday in reference to a dumpster fire. Officers stood by until the fire department extinguished the fire. After an investigation, the person who started the fire was located and admitted to starting the fire. The person was ultimately transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. Charges will be filed at a later date.

- Officers responded to the 700 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:04 p.m. Thursday where the resident reported people were breaking into his home while he is away. Officers documented all areas of the residence where the resident claimed was evidence. Officers advised the resident to buy and set up cameras around the residence.

- Christopher M. Chadwick, 27, Brooklyn Avenue, Salem, was charged with falsification after officers responded to the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in reference to a reckless operation complaint. Officers determined the complainant was Chadwick himself who was hoping to mislead law enforcement to the wrong area so he could get home with being stopped due to not having a suspended driver's license.

- The school resource officer at 2:33 p.m. Thursday spoke with school staff and administrators regarding statements made by a student in class around other students and staff members. The student was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Tobin Center.

- Brandon Gust, 28, West Washington Street, Lisbon, was arrested on an active warrant out of Columbiana County for possessing drug abuse instruments after an officer on patrol observed him in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 1:35 p.m. Thursday. He was found in possession of a used needle syringe which was seized.
