Ruby Mae (Teevan) Alter
SALEM–Ruby Mae (Teevan) Alter, 64, of Salem died at 6:34 p.m. Thursday at Select Speciality Hospital in Boardman.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1952 in South Gate, LA County, Calif., a daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Audrey Valentine (Maxcey) Teevan.
She was a retired buyer for the Philadelphia Electric Company.
She is survived by her husband, James Howard Alter, whom she married in 1970; her children, James “JJ” Alter of Pennsylvania, Misty (Darrin) Sturgell of Columbiana, Christopher (Jessica) Alter of Pennsylvania, Cary (Lisa) Alter of Missouri, Ginger (John) Hummel of Pennsylvania, Howard (Dorothy “Dot” ) Alter of Pennsylvania and Margaret (Roger) Hawk of Pennsylvania; a sister, Mary (Dennis) Carter of Texas; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no services held at this time.
