Betty J. McKarns, 99, of Kensington, Ohio went to be with lord and savior on Tuesday January 18, 2022. She was born in Kensington to the late D.J. and Irene P. (Flenniken) Bolen on September 21, 1922.
Betty married Paul C. McKarns on July 27, 1940 and he passed away December 15, 1997; celebrating 57 years of marriage. Betty retired in 1988 from United Local School where she was an Elementary School teacher.
She was a member of the following: The Kensington First Christian Church where she served as a Deaconess, Bible school teacher and in the Ladies Aid Society. The Pleasant Valley Chapter # 216 Order of Eastern Stars and The Tri State Antique Car Club. Her hobbies were Golfing, Bowling, Square Dancing, Reading, Traveling and anything that brought fun into her life.
Survivors are her children Deborah (Chick) Vona of Winona, OH. Her son Paul Timothy McKarns. A sister Rachael Haynam of Minerva, OH. Her brother Ronald Bolen of Victorville, Ca.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Paul. Her sister Mary Jo Moore. One niece Trudy Detcheon and a brother in law Spike Haynam.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the church or to The United Local Scholarship fund. A special thanks to her care givers: Pat, Kay, Judy and Linda.
Private services will be held and burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
