Robert (Bob) Glen Kauffman
HIGHLAND, Mich. — Robert (Bob) Glen Kauffman, 79, formerly of the Leetonia and Columbiana, Ohio, area passed away in Highland, Mich., on May 17, 2022. He was a 1960 graduate of Fairfield High School and attended Kent State University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph College Online, Maine.
Bob held supervisory positions in maintenance and facilities at several hospitals in Ohio as well as Director of Maintenance and Construction at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. He was also employed by ComEd Electric Company in Chicago and then joined Johnson Controls from which he retired as Director of Facilities at the GM Proving Grounds in Michigan. Bob loved to read and enjoyed gardening, traveling and taking long walks.
Bob was preceded in death by his son Jonathan, his brother Ken, and his parents Victor and Dorothy Kauffman. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Chad) Thompson and granddaughter Abigail of Nashville, Tenn.; his partner Janice Gillem of Highland, Mich., and sisters Louise (John) Moss of Houston, Texas, and Jean (Bob) Owens of Monon, Ind. and sister-in-law Esther Kauffman of Columbia City, Ind. He is also survived by aunts Mildred Grim of Poland, Ohio, and Doris Yoder of Goshen, Ind., as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Remembrances may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the America Heart Association. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
