BELLVILLE — Ronald “Dean” Ferguson was born on June 6, 1945 to Margaret “Maggie” and Carl Ferguson in Shelby, Ohio. Dean passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Friday, April 20, 2023.

Dean retired from General Motors in Youngstown as a Tool & Die maker.

He was an active member of his local church and loved nothing more than being helpful to others. Dean proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Guam as well as New Hampshire serving as an air craft mechanic. He loved quiet time, reading his Bible, potluck dinners and target shooting.

Dean will be greatly missed and remembered by his friends and family.

Dean is survived by ex-wife, Pamela (Traxler) Beeman and their two children; Gary (Karen) Ferguson and Lori (Chad) Pranger, two step children; Brenda (Jay) Greene, Jeff (Barbie) Vogelhuber, nine grandchildren; Spencer, Camille and Mason Ferguson (Gary), Evan and Jasper Picchioni (Karen), Jenna (Jeff) Chinn, Kara (Rusty) Savage (Brenda), Ashton and Trevor (Joyce) Vogelhuber (Jeff); five great-grandchildren Marloe, Henry, Stella, Graham and Claire; close friend Myrle Bechtal; nephews and niece Devin Guardiola, Terry Ferguson and Vickie Reese.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Virginia “Ginny” Ferguson, Dean’s brother Vernon (Dorothy) Ferguson, sister Beverly (Lupe) Guardiola, and nephew Troy Guardiola.

The Ferguson family will receive friends Friday, April 28, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a service for him will begin at 12 p.m. Military honors will be performed at the funeral home by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
