Robert W. Conroy
1938-2023
Robert W. Conroy, 84, of Monessen, Pa., passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 in Jefferson Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born Dec. 14, 1938 in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late Charles Robert and Dorothy "Toots" (Braun) Conroy.
He was a 1956 graduate of Salem High School in Ohio and was a member of many clubs and organizations including Monessen Lions Club where he was serving as treasurer for the past 11 years, Mon Valley and Zanesville United Way where he served as a past president, Mon Valley Progress Council, was on the Board for Mon Valley Hospital and Monessen and Zanesville Rotary.
He worked as a publisher for three newspapers -- Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter, Zanesville Times Recorder and The Valley Independent. He also worked for many years at Ryte Byte computer store and repair service and also at Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc.
Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Jenny Anne (Bronder) Conroy; son, Michael Robert (Adina) Conroy of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; daughter, Christine Ann Conroy of Chicago, Ill.; and granddaughter, Arianah Ruzovich.
Friends will be received Wednesday, May 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Father David J. Nazimek officiating.
