Hellen Jean "Jeanie" (McKean) Taucher of Columbiana (formerly of Hopewell Township, Beaver County, Pa.) passed away June 9, 2023, at the age of 99 years, 11 months and 16 days -- two weeks shy of turning 100.
She was born June 23, 1923, in Aliquippa, Pa., to the late James and Hellen (Gill) McKean.
Jeanie worked at J & L Steel Company during World War II loading steel onto railroad cars for the government. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Aliquippa where she taught Sunday school classes for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Woodlawn Chapter #164 for over 75 years.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Walter McKean Sr., and her beloved grandson, Joseph (JJ) James Stepo III.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Melvin Paul Taucher; three daughters, Karen (Joe) Stepo, Laurel Levanduski and Sherry Kuebel; two granddaughters, Maurriah and Vanessa Kuebel; a granddaughter-in-law, Karen Stepo; three great-grandchildren, Alysia (Stevie) Cappitte and Nick and Maggie Stepo; and three great-great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Cameron and Skylar Cappitte. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Per her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private service will be held for family members at a later date.
