Marjorie Hanna Wood Hoffman, 92, passed away peacefully July 14, 2023, in Milton, Massachusetts, with her daughters by her side. She was born July 18, 1930, to the late Harry and Phoebe (Stoudt) Hanna of Guilford Lake, Ohio.
Marjorie graduated from Salem High School in 1948 and then Marietta College before marrying and moving to Canton, Massachusetts. She had a long career as an English and literature teacher. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, including her annual trip to Ohio. She was a beacon of positivity with daily affirmations. Marjorie loved and cherished all the time she spent with her family-near and far.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her husbands Dave Wood and Jerry Hoffman, sister Louise Scott Breazeale, brothers-in-law Charles Scott and Mack Breazeale, brother Dave Hanna, son-in-law George Demeris, grandson Ben Scarlett and niece Amy Scott.
She is survived by three daughters, Beth Scarlett, Sue Wood and Kristen Demeris; grandsons Geo (Armanda) Demeris, Kristopher Demeris and David Scarlett; two great-grandchildren; brother John (Nancy) Hanna and sister-in-law Flo Hanna, as well as many nieces and nephews who will cherish the many good times with her.
A celebration of life will be held in early fall at her daughter's home in Massachusetts.
