Joan (Sell) Bentley, of Simpsonville, S.C., was welcomed to her eternal home Aug. 10, 2023 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, S.C. A resident of Salem, Ohio most all of her life, Joan was born Dec. 22, 1938, and graduated from Salem Senior High. She was a member of Salem First Church of the Nazarene where she was the church organist and of Greenford Christian Church. She also worked in the offices of Dr. Ernst Schaefer in Salem and Dr. Mark Evans in Columbiana.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Eldon Bentley of Simpsonville, S.C.; son William (Susan) Bentley of Loveland, Ohio; daughter Beth (John) Grotteland of Simpsonville, S.C.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Sell, and her sister Jean (Jack) Thorne.
The family will celebrate Joan's memory privately on a future date.
