Nancy J. Penrod
1952-2023
ALLIANCE -- Nancy J. Penrod, 71, of Sebring passed away July 30, 2023, at Aultman Alliance Hospital.
Nancy was born June 2, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert and Jane (Nelson) Penrod.
She was employed as a teacher for 33 years, most of them spent in sixth grade at West Branch Local Schools. In retirement, Nancy was most recently employed at the Salem Public Library. But her most rewarding position in retirement was helping care for her great nephews Luke and Jake.
She was a lifelong resident of the area but enjoyed any time she could spend by a beach.
Nancy was involved with West Branch BINGO, West Branch Athletic Boosters and the Sebring American Legion Post 76 Youth Foundation. She was also a former scorekeeper for the Lakerettes out of Conneaut where she was known as "Scoop."
She was an avid follower of West Branch and Salem athletics, especially West Branch softball and Salem soccer and basketball. She also loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, back to the Terry Bradshaw days.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Christine Wright (husband Tom); longtime friend, Sis Woods; niece, Emily Davis (husband Brad); and great-nephews, Luke and Jake Davis.
To honor Nancy's memory, donations can be made to West Branch Softball or Salem Boys Soccer through their respective high school athletic departments.
No services will be held but a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
