Capt. David A. Scott
Capt. David A. Scott, Green Beret of the 82nd Airborne Division, 1st Special Forces decorated Vietnam Combat Veteran passed away Oct. 12, 2023 at his home in Salem. He donated his body to Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy for scientific purposes.
He was a graduate of Columbiana High School and a member of VFW Post 5532 and American Legion Post 290. He worked for 30 years at the Post Office in Salem and retired from the Youngstown Post Office.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Parana) Scott, who he was married to for 47 years; five children, Joseph and Terri Winkler, Dianne Himes, James Winkler, Jill and Walt Drotleff and Paul and Jill Winkler, all of Salem; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and various nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Audrey (Knight) Scott, and brother, Thomas Scott.
