1946-2023

Sandra Jane Stevenson Brant Glass, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Oct. 5, 2023, at her home in Salem, Ohio, due to a heart attack. Born Sept. 30, 1946, in Salem, Ohio, Sandra, known to many as Sandy, lived a life marked by kindness, love and thoughtfulness.

Sandy was a proud graduate of Salem High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Education from Kent State University. She retired as director of the Columbiana County Office on Aging. She also taught at Robert Bycroft. Her commitment to her community didn't stop at her professional life; she was also a dedicated volunteer, always ready to lend a hand where needed. Sandy will be remembered not just for her professional and volunteer work, but also for her loving spirit. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness in her family, always thoughtful and considerate. Her love extended beyond people to animals, especially her faithful canine companion, Lizzie Lizzie.

She is survived by her sons, Stacie (Meredith) Brant of Cincinnati, Derek (Paula) Brant of Salem and Chuckie Brant of Salem. Her legacy will continue to live on through her grandchildren, Alexander (Paige), Michael, Haley, Xavier, Isabella, Macie, and Ashlynn Brant; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Rouse, Sophia, Mela, and Russell Brant. Sandy also leaves behind her mother, Alice Mae (Wickersham) Stevenson; and siblings, Donna (John) Runzo, Dave (Patty) Stevenson, Doug (Dorothy) Myers, Tim (Sheryl) Myers and Scott Myers.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jane (Martin) Stevenson; father, Dr. William F. Stevenson; and grandson, Neal Brant. Their memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved them.

Sandra Jane Stevenson Brant Glass was a woman who touched many lives with her kindness, love and thoughtfulness. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. We will always remember her love for her family, her dedication to her community, and her unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed.

As per Sandy's request, she will be cremated and burial will be at Grandview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as per Sandy's volunteer efforts, donations can be made to the Salem Community Pantry.
