Florence "Flo" (Gessner) Howard, 93, of Leetonia, (formerly of La Mirada, California) passed away peacefully on the morning of Feb. 18, 2024.
Florence was born on April 4, 1930, in Donora, Pennslyvania. She married Arthur Holt in May 19, 1954, they relocated to southern California in her early 20s where she became a mother to two daughters and resided there for 40 years. After the tragic passing of her husband Arthur, she found love again and married William Howard June 15, 1967.
She is survived by her daughters: Susan Margaret (Charles) Hastings of Temecula, California, and Sherrie Anne (Victor) Maroscher of Leetonia, Ohio; three grandchildren: Anne Margaret "Meggie" (Andrew) Boyle, Mitchell Howard Maroscher and Grace Kathleen (Florent) Auteuil; great-grandchild Emerson Mae Maroscher, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husbands: Arthur Cecil Holt in 1966 and William Daniel Howard in 2001, granddaughter Hope Victoria Maroscher, and her two brothers: William and Edward Gessner.
Services will be on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, 2:30 p.m. at Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church; a time of visitation with the family will be from 2 to 2:30 p.m. The burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. To celebrate her life, Flo had desired for her friends and family to join together for a Remembrance "Happy Hour" from 4 tp 6 p.m. held Friday following the service at the Salem Golf Club.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
