1941-2024
Vic Samilenko, 82, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024.
He was born March 24, 1941, in Dnipropetrovska, Ukraine. His family came to this country in 1950. They settled in Texas and moved to Salem, Ohio, in 1952. He graduated from Salem High School in 1959. He attended The Ohio State University and received his business degree from Youngstown State University.
Vic began his career at First Federal Savings & Loan in Youngstown and retired after 30 years of service as exectuive vice president and a director of the corporation.
He leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Mary, and brother, John Samijlenko of Marietta, Georgia; nephew Sean Trombetti (Christi) of Roswell, Georgia; niece Yvonne Vignejevic of Chicago, Illinois; three great-nieces and a great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Rose Samijlenko and a sister, Hannah Trombetti.
Per his wishes, no services will be held. Final resting place is in Marietta, Georgia.
