Jessie Marie "Jetty" Martin, 84, passed Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth-Boardman in Youngstown, Ohio.
Jetty was born on Nov. 16, 1939 in Lisbon, the daughter of the late Robert V. and Helen M.(Hoffman) Liggitt.
Jetty was a 1957 graduate of Lisbon High School and attended Kent State University. She worked as a librarian at Reilly Elementary School for 20 years and as medical secretary for Dr. LaCobbs for eight years.
She belonged to the Bayside Yacht Club, Ft. Myers, Fla., and was a charter member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Delta Omicron Chapter. Jetty and her husband loved traveling and boating together, as well as spending time riding motorcycles.
Jetty is survived by her children, Robert Martin Jr. of Salineville; stepson James (Paulette) Martin; granddaughter, Samara Martin; grandson, Jamie (Angie) Martin; and great-granddaughter, Calla Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Martin Sr., whom she married on Aug. 26, 1965.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later time privately by her family.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
