Kathryn S. Fritz, 49, of Salem, passed away on July 16, 2024, surrounded by the love of her close family. Kathy was born on March, 29, 1975, in Alliance, Ohio to Deborah and Lawrence Clemens.
Kathy, the most loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished sibling, is survived by her husband, Sean; her children Cailyn and Mahlon, and her four siblings, Bradley, Tami, Stephanie, and Christopher. A brother, Carl, preceded her in death.
Upon graduation from United Local High School, Kathy received her BSN from Youngstown State University. With the endless dedication and compassion she displayed throughout her life, Kathy provided care to patients at Salem Community Hospital and Aultman Hospital as an RN while completing an MSN program at Kent State University. Soon after obtaining her MSN, Kathy began practicing as an NP at NE Ohio Endocrinology, where she was loved and respected by patients and colleagues alike. Kathy has dedicated the last 18 years of her life to providing premier, patient-centered care to her clients.
During her time as an RN for Salem and Aultman, Kathy met the love of her life, the man who would remain by her side through every challenge, Sean. Kathy and Sean were married on Oct. 12, 2002 and enjoyed 24 wonderful years loving each other. Kathy and Sean went on to become parents of two exceptional children, Cailyn and Mahlon.
Kathy had the natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and she was always the life of the party. She had a laugh and smile that were infectious to everyone around her. Kathy was truly an inspirational woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family, friends, colleagues, and patients.
The pride of Kathy's life was undoubtedly her two children, with whom she spent much of her time outside of work. In her free time, Kathy would travel all over the state following her children's sports journeys. One could find Kathy at every football/wrestling event for her son, or at every volleyball/basketball/softball game for her daughter. Kathy fought long and hard in her battle against metastatic breast cancer for her children, and she demonstrated the greatest example of what it means to dedicate oneself to a greater purpose than themselves, despite the odds stacked against her.
Kathy was a selfless woman whose passing left an unfillable void in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will forever be instilled in everyone she knew.
Two periods of calling hours for Kathy will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on July 25 at Maple Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington, Ohio. A private mass and burial will be held for immediate family members.
