Donna J. Dailey

Together Again

1939-2024

SALEM -- Donna J. Dailey, 85, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2024, at Hospice House in Boardman, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 17, 1939, in Salem, Ohio, Donna was the daughter of the late Clare D. and Ariel I. Patterson Davis. She graduated from Salem High School in 1957 and spent over 30 years working as an upholsterer at Ort Furniture of Salem. She later worked at Sterns and Foster in Columbiana and, after retiring, continued to contribute part-time at Lyle Printing.

Donna was married to Harry Dailey, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2022, after 58 years of marriage. Together, they ran a lawn care service and provided a welcoming home for many children in need.

Donna and Harry loved traveling, exploring Alaska twice and enjoying the Smoky Mountains. They also cherished their time at their camper in Paradise Lake, East Rochester. Donna was passionate about bingo and casinos, and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making mittens, afghans, and baby blankets.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Ariel (Roy) Stacy of Leetonia, Ohio; her sister, Janet Iden of Salem; nieces Janine (Steve) Beasley, Nadine (Bill) Urban, and Martha Lozier of Virginia; and many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Rick Lozier, who was like a son to her.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, with a service to follow at noon with Pastor Bruce Rhodes officiating. Donna will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery.
