Ida Jane Farmer Albert
1934-2024
Ida Jane Farmer Albert passed away Oct. 9, 2024, at New Albany Care Rehab Center. She was born on June 9, 1934, the daughter of Clyde and Elizabeth Farmer.
Ida was the first born of six children. She last worked at the Guernsey Association in Columbus for 26 years and worked until she was 80 years old. Ida started out in the records department and ended up managing the office and won the 2007 American Guernsey Association Service Award at the National Convention in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a 60-year-plus member of Grace United Church of Christ in Columbus.
Ida is survived by Thomas Dale (Kristin) Albert of Canal Winchester, Jane Elizabeth (Andy) Farley of Gahanna, and James Mark Albert of Columbus. There are several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great-grandchild.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, C. Wesley Albert, and children Barbara Louise Albert, Gregory Eugene Albert and Darrell Wesley Albert.
Her living siblings are Alice Farmer (John) Gamble of Winona, Arlene Farmer (Robert) Barnett of Salem, and Edward (Charlene) Farmer of Lisbon. Ida was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean R. Farmer and Jack D. Farmer.
A memorial service and interment will be held on Nov. 2, 2024, at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reyoldsburg. Arrangements are being handled by Evans Funeral Home.
When asked many years ago, what is your most treasured possession, Ida answered, "It may sound corny, but I've always been so proud of my kids. They are so attractive, knowledgeable, personable, and just good company."
