Ann Frances (Dugas) Coy

1929-2024

Ann Frances (Dugas) Coy, 95, passed away at Salem Regional Medical Center on Dec. 24, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born in Phillipsburg, Pa., the daughter of Martin and Agnes (Parana) Dugas. She attended St. Paul School and was a 1947 graduate of Salem High School. She married Howard Coy on Oct. 22, 1949 and was mother to Debbie Wack Watson and Barbara (Tom) Wagner. She was grandmother (Nan) to Becky Wack Kitto, Jim (Gina) Wack and Brianne (John) Lantz. She was great-grandmother (Nana) to Chloe Ann, Lena, Bradon and Mitchell. She was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

She was a receptionist for Dr. Ralph Vance for many years. She retired from the Salem School System after 25 years working in the cafeteria, Reilly library, and the High School library. She then worked at various downtown clothing businesses, the Yum Yum Tree and Peebles, and volunteered at the Welcome desk for the Salem Regional Medical Center until 2020. She loved going to Dewey Beach, Delaware with her family and The Salem Country Club. She was an avid follower of Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers football.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Agnes Dugas; her brother, Marty; her 2nd Mom, Susan Kolner; her brothers, Carl and Ed Kolner; her husband, Howard; and her daughter, Debbie.

Open visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at Stark Memorial in Salem from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St. Paul School Foundation (SPSF), 925 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460; or The Salem High School Alumni Association (SHSAA), 330 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Salem Regional Medical Center – with special thanks to Taylor, Beth, Leigh, Shannon, Dr. Moser, and Dr. Proya. Sincere thanks are, also, extended to her dear support friends – Carol Dickson and Linda Thomson.
