Patricia Ann Burk

1934-2025

Former longtime Salem resident Patricia Ann Burk has passed away at the age of 90 years old. Patricia passed peacefully at Halifax Health-Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, Fla., on Jan. 4, 2025. Patricia was born in Boston, raised in Hingham, Massachusetts on May 11, 1934, where she eventually met her beloved husband Ronald H. Burk, a former partner at the Hill Barth & King CPA firm. She survived her husband by 28 years.

Patricia was a volunteer at the Salem Community Hospital Women's Auxiliary and Salem Welcome Wagon. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Salem Garden Club. She also enjoyed playing tennis both in Salem, Ohio and Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

Patricia raised her three surviving children, Kevin Burk, Savannah, Ga., Eric Burk, (Doreen) Jupiter, Fla. and Lori Burk Merkley, (Charles) Port Orange, Fla., with values of family, love of God and love of community and country. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Bryon Burk residing in Jupiter, Fla., Derek Burk residing in Wellington, Fla., Kristin Latham residing in Savannah, Ga., Caroline Burk residing in Savannah, Ga., and Kate Merkley residing in Philadelphia, Pa., as well as her five great-grandchildren Kinsley Burk, Harrison Burk, Parker Burk, Addison Latham and Charlotte Latham.

Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband at Todd Memorial Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio, with a private family service at a later date.
