Sammy Richard Barth, 68, of Salem, Ohio, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025.
Born on Aug. 12, 1956, in Salem, Sam was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a proud graduate of the Salem High School class of 1974 and later earned an Associate's degree from Youngstown State University. Sam went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps, where he dedicated several years to proudly serving his country. After his service, Sam had a long standing career as a machinery professional, specializing in electronics.
Sam will be deeply missed by his daughter, Lindsay Barth, and his niece, Lauren Newlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Nina Barth, and his brother, Pete Barth.
The burial service will take place at 11 a.m. on April 12, 2025. His remains will be buried at Grandview Cemetery, alongside his family members, where he will rest in peace. A gun salute will be performed by the Salem Honor Guard in his honor during the service. A celebration of life will be held following the burial service from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Salem Club located on 542 S Broadway Ave., Salem, OH 44460 where Sam was a beloved member. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Colon Cancer Foundation in Sam and his mother, Nina's memory.
Sam's family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this time. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
