Joseph R. Finch

1934-2025

SALEM — Joseph R. Finch, age 90, of 1103 East Pine Lake Road, Salem, died on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

He was born November 14, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph R. and Cathryn (Niehiser) Finch.

Before his retirement, Joe had worked as an enameller at the former Eljers in Salem for 30 years. He was a member of the Salem Methodist Church.

Joe loved hunting, camping, his weekly card nights, and Sundays with the family. He was also a BMW motorcycle enthusiast. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.

His wife, Marthetta “Marty” Finch, whom he married June 4, 1954, preceded him in death December 17, 2009. A son, Robert Joseph; sister, Carol DelVichio; and brothers, Donald and Ronald Finch, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Richard (Lynn) Finch of Salem, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Diane Finch of Boardman; one sister, Kay Harris of Salem; one brother, Jack Finch of California; five grandchildren, Joe, Katie, Candice, Jena (Justin) and Anton; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aubrey, Isabelle and Nathan.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home with. Calling hours will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 703, Salem, Ohio 44460.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
