Donald ‘Donnie’ Krebs

Donald ‘Donnie’ Krebs
1959-2025
Donald “Donnie” Krebs passed away unexpectedly on April 30 doing what he loved with his Carhartts and boots on.
Donald Krebs, affectionately known to family, friends and loves ones as Donnie, was born on Feb. 16, 1959 in Salem, Ohio, to Charles and Donna Krebs.
A proud graduate of the Salem High School Class of 1977, Donnie went on to complete an apprenticeship in tool and die, dedicating over 15 years of his career as a skilled tool and die maker at Sekely Tool and Die.
While he took pride in his trade, Donnie’s true passion was classic Chevy cars. He spent countless hours traveling across the country, exploring scrap yards and attending swap meets in pursuit of rare finds. Along the way, he built a community of close friends who shared in his love for vintage vehicles — connections that brought him joy and purpose throughout his life.
Donnie also cherished time spent with his son, DJ, especially over a friendly game of pool and a drink at a local watering hole. Known for his ever-present smile and knack for storytelling, Donnie had a warmth and spirit that drew people in and left lasting impressions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Donna Krebs; his brother, Ted Albright; and his grandson, Jayce Krebs.
Donnie is survived by his son, Donald “DJ” Krebs Jr. of Salem; his granddaughter, Skylynn Muniz of Salem; his grandson, Nico Krebs of Salem; and companion, Staci Rullo of Pittsburgh.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 27 at The Flying Pig in Salem from 5-8 p.m.
Donnie lived by the words: “Love what you do, and do what you love.”
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
