Robert Benton Snyder "Buzz", 80, of North Barrington, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025. Surrounded by family. He was a loving husband to Joanne for 44 years and partner to Marianne Jones for the last nine years. Buzz was a loving and caring friend, father, uncle and brother to Sally Sanders and Susan Stoddard.
Buzz leaves behind his four children: Ryan, Sara, Emily and JB; as well his five grandchildren: Whinnery, RJ, Dillon, Sullivan and Millie, who he was very proud of.
Buzz graduated from Salem High School in 1962 and Harvard Executive MBA program in 1986. Buzz was active-duty Army in the late 60s and early 70s.
Buzz loved watching his children and grandchildren in sports and activities. He also enjoyed boating during his time on Cape Cod, riding his motorcycle on early mornings, traveling with Joanne and walking the forest preserves with Marianne. He found solace in the simple things like taking walks, mowing the grass, running errands and long talks to anyone who would listen.
He worked for General Housewares as a VP of sales and marketing until 1990 and then in a similar role at Haeger Potteries until his retirement in 2016.
Buzz loved being a grandfather and was very proud of his family. He lived by the motto, "Enjoy Everyday."
