Christopher C. Wager, 58, of Raleigh, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at his home in Raleigh, N.C.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1967, in Spokane, Wash., the son of the late Alan Wager and the late Louise Kiliany Briggs.
Chris was the proud owner and operator of Briggs Painting, a residential/commercial painting contractor based out of Salem, Ohio. He enjoyed playing guitar, playing chess, reading, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed writing, ultimately writing two books, one fictional novel named Stow Away, and one How To painting book.
He was a great husband, father, friend, and brother who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Chris is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen Wright Wager, and his beloved son Benjamin, both of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Carrie McMaster and Roxanne Ross, both of New Waterford; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Leetonia, with Father Chad Johnson officiating.
Chris will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
